Street Style Guide Pt.2

Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetAs promised, we’re back this week with part two of our ‘Street Style’ guide! The thing that I love about street style and fashion in general is that it’s totally your choice of how creative or simple you want to be with it. I always tell my boys that finding a happy medium within those two ends of the spectrum is the best way to go.

TIP: Don’t be afraid to go against the grain. Fashion is all about having fun and expressing yourself! Try on those fitted denim, rock those all black overalls! At the end of the day, you’ll know if it works for you or not. Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset
As I mentioned in part 1 street style is all about swag, and finding your own way of rocking an outfit is the fun part about it.
TIP: An easy way of bringing more depth into your outfit is by layering. Yes, layering, it’s not only for your preppy inspired looks anymore. Look at Kanye West, one of my favourite street style guys, you’ll very rarely find him wearing only one tee or crewneck.  Try experimenting with different lengths and fabrics when putting your outfits together. For example; I styled Daniel with a simple denim button up and complimented it with a long line tee underneath. image1
When in doubt dress from the bottom up. I don’t know if a lot of people do this or it’s just me because of my love of sneakers but I tend to find it easier. Knowing the type of kicks that you want to wear and building your outfit around them is a trick that I like to use a lot.
TIP: Slender kicks are your best friends when it comes to skinny jeans and hi-tops are your best friends when it comes to joggers. If you’re on a budget grab yourself a pair of black and white  Hi-Tops! They pair well with the style of bottoms above, super versatile and the more you wear them, the more character they have. Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetPhotography by: Shayna Desir for ChristianConfidential.comProcessed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset
Thanks for coming back and checking out part two of our ‘Street Style’ guide! Hopefully you guys found the tips informative and got to take a thing or two out of this post. As always, don’t be afraid to drop me a line if you have any questions or comments!

Travel Essentials + Where I’m Going

Travel Essentials | Christian Confidential I love to travel, whether it’s a short trip to Miami with friends or a whirlwind adventure to Europe, I’m always down! With that being said, I don’t know about you but packing and making sure that I have everything before I head to the airport sometimes gives me anxiety. Did I bring the right amount of outfits? Am I overpacking? Did I remember to bring my passport? Ugh…It’s a lot! I’ve put together a little travel essential list to at least help you remember to pack these items as for me, they’re crucial.

1. camera 2. sunglasses 3. portable charger 4. rings 5. watch 6. magazines  7. comfortable shoes

Fashion week is about to wrap up in Toronto and as if that wasn’t enough fashion for me, I’m headed to Trinidad & Tobago to take in even more. My friends over at Fashion Vanguard have invited me to take a peak into their Buyer’s Exhibition this weekend and learn about the culture and lifestyle of Tobago. You guys know I’m a wanderer so I’ll be taking in as much of the experience and sharing it with you all on the blog and via social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat)!

Stay tuned & talk soon!

Street Style Guide Pt.1 | Style Post

christian confidentialIt’s Fashion Week here in Toronto, and in celebration of it my team and I wanted to do something  special. We’ve put together a two part street style guide featuring some of my favourite pieces for the season. Within these visual guides, I’ve put together six looks that incorporate my essentials, statement pieces, minimalism, and swag. For me, when I think about what really draws me towards this style of dressing is that it embodies confidence. Not to take anything away from the dapper dudes, but 9 out of 10 guys look great in a suit, but with street style if it’s not done correctly you can very easily look like a hot mess. With street style it’s all about swag, you wear the clothes, don’t let the clothes wear you. christian confidentialchristian confidentialI styled my friends (Daniel & Jay) and myself in looks that showcase my take on street style. Fitted joggers, bombers, motto jackets, oversized tees, long line tees and fresh sneakers…sigh, you can’t forget about the sneakers!

TIP #1: When it comes to building your sneaker collection, start with the classics and when in doubt opt for pairs in black, white or grey. They’ll play the best with your outfits and never go out of style. christian confidential

I’ve said this before so it should come as no surprise that when it comes to clothes, as much as I search for dope fashion, I search just as much for comfort. Fashion Week is the perfect example for when opting for that edgy street look might come in handy. You’re running around from show to show to gift lounges to maybe even an after party or two! I don’t know about you but a pair of Tubulars sound like the ideal pair of shoes to be sporting on days like that. christian confidential
If you want to do street style right, a good item to have in your arsenal is a leather or faux leather jacket. The great thing about fast fashion these days is that you’re able to get nice pieces at affordable prices. For example; you wouldn’t believe how much the motto jackets that we’re wearing costs… you’ve gotta love Forever 21 for that.
TIP #2: Black is your best friend. I’ve never met a person that didn’t look great in black. It makes for the perfect base to build your outfits with, it’s super versatile and let’s you get away with repeating it more times than any other colour option. I stock up on black tanks, tees, basic sweatshirts and jeans all the time and it doesn’t have to cost you a lot. christian confidential

Picking the Perfect Outerwear | Style Post

CCxRWCOIf you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ve probably noticed my slight obsession with outerwear. It’s almost as big as my love for sneakers… almost! Picking the right outerwear is really important because ultimately it’s a statement piece that you’ll continuously wear. Think about it, every season you rotate between 2-3 jackets that you wear everywhere. Meaning they’ve got to be versatile, stylish and protect you from the elements. I picked up this peacoat from RW&CO that I think checks off all three boxes. It’ll look good dressed up with some dress pants and a cashmere sweater or dressed down with a pair of dark denim and some casual kicks (like I tend to go for). I could’ve gone for a camel, navy or black jacket but instead I opted for military green, which is very in this season and will help set you apart from others. Lastly, fall weather is super unpredictable and I despise being cold, so make sure to check if you’re jacket has a good lining to help protect you from those low temperature days.

For more outerwear options for both men and women check out RW&CO’s selection here and let me know what you think!

Fall Footwear with Lacoste | Style Post

Fall Footwear with Lacoste | Style PostIt’s a busy time in the city for those of us in the fashion industry, as next week is World MasterCard Fashion Week! Even though I tell myself every season that I’m going to take it easy, somehow my schedule always ends up being jam packed. Whether it’s watching the shows, catching up with the models, shooting content, attending gift lounges and or the hundreds of after parties… the week is full or glitz and glamour + a ton of work. That being said, I tend to style a lot of my looks the week before so that I’m not stressing over what to wear the day of. You may have seen a glimpse or two of this look on my Instagram account over the last few weeks but I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to post the full look + details on my site. I kept the clothes very simple as I wanted the shoes to pop and get the attention they deserve. These Millard Lace Derby shoes from Lacoste  are about to get a lot of play next week and furthermore the rest of the season. Comfortable, stylish with a classic yet modern feel to them, they’re the perfect addition to my footwear collection, don’t you agree?

Street Wear Vibes for Fall

street wear vibes | Christian ConfidentialHi guys, I hope that October has been good to you all so far. I’ve styled a new look that I think you’re going to love! It’s stylish, looks effortless & all around cool in my books. I opted for a light colour palette (minus the jacket) and played with lengths ( long line sweatshirt, an even longer tee and the bomber jacket) to give this outfit some more depth.

I think the reason why I love this outfit so much is because it incorporates a lot of my fall essentials; oversized sweatshirt, ripped denim, bomber jacket, and some fresh kicks. If you’re into it, scroll down to the bottom to check out where you can get some of these pieces.

So Wavy | Style Post

So Wavy | Style PostSo with the new season upon us comes the need for new gear… or at least that’s how I rationalize my new purchases. As much as I would love to live somewhere that’s warm all-year round, I really do love fall, primarily for the fashion. Recently, I picked up this satin bomber jacket that I’m totally obsessed with! I’m not sure if it’s the colour or the material (both rarely found in my closet) that drew me to this jacket but whatever it was I’m glad that it did. I opted to pair it with some khaki joggers, a long sleeve tee and some classic reeboks. Super clean, super casual aka the perfect everyday look for fall. So Wavy | Style PostSo Wavy | Style PostWhat I’m Wearing

Break The Rules | Style Post

Break The Rules | Christian Confidential Hi guys, I hope you’re all enjoying the last stretch of summer. My latest style post is an all-white edgy look. I know that you’re not “suppose” to wear white after Labour Day but I couldn’t resist and frankly I’m a little bit of rebel. A white tee, layered with a short sleeve sweatshirt, a pair of distressed white denim and a pair of sneakers… if that’s wrong then I don’t want to be right!

I hope you guys like this look as much as I do.
