Toronto Fashion Week With Rudsak

Christian Confidential | Christian ThompsonLast week was a special one for those in Toronto that work in fashion. Toronto Fashion Week is one of my favourite times of the year in the city, there’s of course the fashion, the events, the networking and most of all the energy! This season I teamed up with canadian brand Rudsak as a social media correspondent to give you guys behind the scene access and exclusive moments via social media. I’ve been a fan of the brand for quite some time now and they’ve really made a name for themselves by consistently providing quality and innovation season after season. The show was great and although I’m amped for Spring + Summer, the runway collection got me excited about shopping for fall coats and leather accessories. Before heading to the show, I got the chance to put a look together featuring this dope lightweight nylon jacket from the brand, called Lamero. I kept the colour palette light to compliment the jacket and wore a pair of burgundy kicks to give the outfit that little extra something! It’s cool, it’s casual, and fun! Continue Reading…

Don’t Let Em’ Dim Your Light

christian thompson | christian confidentialHi guys, I hope that your week has started off on a good note! My apologies for being MIA last week, I won’t let it happen again unless I have a super amazing reason (and being busy isn’t one of them). I’m obviously going to talk about this dope casual look that I put together but I wanted to send some positive vibes directly to you guys first . Over the last week or so, I’ve been having  some very deep conversations with a few of my close friends and taking some time to reflect on how I’ve been feeling lately. Being a Blogger, I share more parts of my life than most people do and by doing so, I open myself up to more people having perceived notions of me, good and bad (which for the most part, I’m cool with). I mentioned  in a previous post, the importance of learning not to care too much about what people think and recently I’ve had a few instances where my advice has  been tested. I have pretty thick skin  and as much as I’ve learned to ignore a lot of things, negative energy and words can still hurt and get under your skin, sometimes.  For those moments that you can’t shake it off right away, just remember you’re only responsible for your actions and not those of others. It’s important to have a strong grasp on who you are, where you’re going and to not let negative people get in the way. Think of these experiences like a test, they only get harder the closer you are to your desired destination. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has these days or deals with these type of situations so I just wanted to share a quick reminder to not let them dim your light. They might not want to see you win **Dj Khaled voice** but I sure do! Continue Reading…

War Zone

War Zone | Christian ConfidentialCan you guys believe that it’s February already?! Honestly, the way that time is flying by,definitely freaks me out. Which kind of leads me to my point for this blog post. Over the last few months, I’ve learned more & more how valuable time truly is and how important it is, not to waste it. Here are a few things that I’ve been putting into action lately and have seen some pretty stellar results so far.

1. If there’s something that you want to do write it down! By writing your goals down it makes you feel more responsible to follow through with them. Brainstorm ideas, create a plan and put it into action. Trust me when I say, nothing feels more fulfilling than being able to check things off your bucket list.
2. Stop caring about what other people think. This one is much easier said than done, but it’s definitely worth attempting. In the past I’ve let the opinions of others prevent me from doing things that I wanted to do and over time realized that if I’m not hurting anyone and it makes me happy, I’m going to do it! Life is too short to not do the things that you love!
3. Cut out the dead weight in your life! Energy is very contagious and being surrounded by people with negative energy is toxic and draining. Don’t get me wrong, we all have bad days but if every interaction with a ‘friend’ or ‘lover’ leaves you feeling some type of way… it’s time to let them go. It can be hard at first but once it’s done you’ll be thankful that you did.
4. Lastly, trust in yourself and the timing of your life. I’ve shared this with you guys before but I can’t stress how important it is. A lot of us hold super high expectations for ourselves and if we don’t meet those expectations by a specific time frame we get really down. I’ve learned that what’s meant to be, will happen when it’s the right time (in all areas of life). Your sole responsibility is to work hard, have patience, be positive and be ready when the opportunity presents itself.
If you’ve got any tips that you’d like to share with me, give me a shout, I’m always looking to learn new things christian@christianconfidential.com

Paris

Paris | Christian ConfidentialHi guys, I hope that life has been treating you well these days. I’m definitely still on a high from my trip to Paris. It’s my third time traveling to this beautiful city and I must admit that every time I visit, I fall more & more in love.  I feel like everyone has a place in the world that makes them feel extra special inside, and for me, it’s Paris!

This trip was extra exciting, as it was the first time that I’d be attending shows for Paris Men’s Fashion Week…which to me, is huge! Paris is legit the fashion capital of the world  and to be able to see how things are done over there was definitely a goal of mine personally and professionally. I’ll get more into the shows and all that good stuff in my upcoming post but in the meantime I wanted to share some of my favourite moments and places while away. I decided to switch things up and bring over my Instagram aesthetic to the blog for this post!
Ps… I just want to say a huge thank you to you guys for your continued support!  Honestly, these experiences wouldn’t be possible without my readers and it truly means a lot to me. If there’s anything that you want to see more of, just let me know!

New York City w/ Adidas Originals

Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetA few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to head out to New York City for the global launch of the NMD sneakers by Adidas Originals. Two days in Soho, learning about kicks, a party and having free time to explore my surroundings sounds like the perfect Break From Toronto,to me. New York City | Christian ConfidentialNew York is that magical city where no matter how many times you visit there will always be something new to discover. The NMD shoe was inspired by street culture and New York was the perfect place to launch it. Whenever I search for street style inspiration the first two places that come to mind are New York and Paris. The NMD was designed for the the wanderer, the urban traveler, someone that appreciates the old but is always looking for what’s next. I don’t know about you but it sounds like these sneakers were made for our generation. This is the first release from the NMD series and from the looks of it, things are about to get real LIT. Check out some of my favourite snaps and a few of my recommendations next time you’re visiting Soho.

New York Street Style

New York Street Style | Christian ConfidentialHey guys, here’s a short style post that I shot last week while working in New York City. One of the things that I love about traveling is the fact that you’re usually forced outside of your comfort zone. It should come as no surprise that my team and I definitely follow a certain pattern or theme when it comes to the content that we create and let’s just say New York didn’t make it easy for us haha! Like I mean, do clean plain walls exist in Soho?! I don’t think so!  We shot this look while out  exploring the neighbourhood on our first day. I’m really into anything longline right now and I love this longline jacket I recently got from my friends over in Europe. I wore it over a black cape, and a grey sweatshirt with some ripped denim and a fresh pair of high top kicks. Stay tuned for my full NY recap post!

The Best Choice

Adidas | Christian ConfidentialHey guys, I hope that you’re all doing well. Can you believe we’re already eleven days into December and I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping yet?!? I just came back from a two-day trip to New York with Adidas that I can’t wait to share but in the meantime I put together a little style post for you guys.

You know how I feel about black, it’s a safe choice but depending on how you rock it, it can be the best choice. This outfit is street, casual and edgy all wrapped into one. Layered the top portion with a black zippered tee and a long line tank underneath, added some skinny jeans, a tuque, and finally broke in my Tubular Sneaker boot GSG9. This is something easy to throw together and wear around the city doing everyday stuff! – I hope you like it!

Christian Confidential x Equinox Presents: STACKED!

Equinox | Christian ConfidentialEquinox | Christian ConfidentialA little over a week ago, the Christian Confidential team had the pleasure of collaborating with Equinox Toronto in putting together an influencer event! I’ve been working with the brand for a year now creating digital content and we felt that it was time to spice things up and do something bigger! We decided to throw an intimate fitness event for some of my friends who happen to dub as some of Toronto’s top male influencers and fitness enthusiasts.

The class that we selected is one that the brand is highly recognized for, STACKED! – led by top fitness instructor Eva Redpath! This class is no joke and is definitely a sweat burner. 45 minutes long 12 different exercises in total, 30 seconds to perform, and 30 seconds to recover… let’s just say you’ll never leave this class feeling like you didn’t get pushed to your limits. Equinox | Christian ConfidentialWhat I’m Wearing

Equinox | Christian ConfidentialA healthy dose of cardio and strength training, STACKED! might have you questioning your decision of taking this class while you’re doing it but once it’s over you’ll be more than happy that you did! This is only one of the numerous classes that Equinox has and with the launch of Equinox Yorkville (coming soon), I can’t wait to host my friends again (and maybe a few of our readers) in 2016.

Tobago with Fashion Vanguard

Fashion Vanguard | Christian ConfidentialFashion Vanguard | Christian ConfidentialIt’s December 1st and as I sit down and write this travel post, I must say that the last half of this year has truly been a blessed one. One of the things that I love about being a blogger is that it opens doors to opportunities that can sometimes be life changing. Last month I got the opportunity to travel to the island of Tobago and learn a little bit about their lifestyle and fashion.

The great people at Fashion Vanguard invited us down to check out their inaugural fashion buyers exhibition. This exhibition showcased 9 reputable designers with roots from the island.

I, of course had my favourites and gravitated towards more of your staples/essentials from a brand titled I Say U Clothing. It’s cool to see what works in regards to fashion in other parts of the world and it’s even cooler to see the influence of different cultures reflected in the garments. Fashion Vanguard | Christian ConfidentialFashion Vanguard | Christian ConfidentialLinen (for it’s breathability, I’m sure) was a common fabric used throughout a lot of the featured designers especially the menswear line, Millhouse. Neoprene, which is one of my favourite materials this year was very well displayed throughout some of the womenswear designers such as, Lush KingdomFashion Vanguard | Christian ConfidentialFashion Vanguard | Christian ConfidentialPhotography by: Vitina Blumenthal for ChristianConfidential.comFashion Vanguard | Christian ConfidentialAfter taking in all the dope fashion, it was time to get a taste of the Tobago lifestyle. Beautiful weather, friendly people and great food (I tried shark for the first time), I’m not really sure what else I could’ve asked for. We spent some time at  Pigeon Point beach, partied at the infamous ‘Shade’ nightclub and relaxed by the pool at our villa. All in all, this was a great experience and Tobago is filled with hidden gems and treasure both in fashion and lifestyle. If you’re looking for a destination to unwind and reflect, Tobago is a destination to consider. A special thank you to everyone that made our stay what it was especially; Jamilia, Karen, Kery & Kevon.

Until next time,
