Recapping Memorable Moments With American Express | #ThisMoment

Christian Confidential | American Express

Last weekend was one of my most memorable weekends to date. I didn’t go away, I didn’t have many wild nights but I did have special moments. One of those moments that I’d like to share with you guys, was my first time attending a comedy show courtesy of American Express Canada. On Sunday evening, I attended the Oddball Comedy Festival at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre with my friend Sasha Exeter of Confidential | American ExpressRunning fashionably late (as per usual), we got to the Amp just in time to part take in a few of the perks that Amex cardholders have access to on a regular basis ie: line bypass. I don’t know about you, but the last thing that I want to do on a hot summer night is wait in a huge line up. Solely by being an Amex Cardmember you’re privy to skipping the line and entering the venue through a separate gate.

We quickly found our seats, got comfortable and braced ourselves for the opening acts. Being a Gemini, I can’t stay still for too long no matter how much fun I am having. Sasha and I decided to take a little break between performers and venture off into the Amex lounge for a bite or two. If you get the chance to hang out in the Amex lounge make sure to try the Knife-Pulled Pork sandwich from Barque Smokehouse, it’s delicious! We finished up our experience in the lounge with some s’mores, sparkling water and recapping our favourite performers so far.Christian Confidential | American ExpressChristian Confidential | American ExpressWe ended up making our way back to our seats to catch the headliners, Aziz Ansari and Amy Schumer. The rest of the night was filled with numerous outbursts of laughter, surprised faces and unforgettable moments. I honestly can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard, and I couldn’t think of a better way to end the summer than this experience. But, just because the warm weather is behind us doesn’t mean these great experiences have to end. I am definitely going to stay tuned to my Front Of The Line Entertainment e-updates for upcoming pre sales to some of the hottest shows for the rest of the year.Christian Confidential | American ExpressThe best part about it though, is that American Express provides access to events like this and others (entertainment and lifestyle) all the time to their Cardmembers. To learn more about hot upcoming events check out!

#ThisMoment will definitely go down in the books and I’ll be looking forward to my next comedy show experience!

Until next time,

Live Beautifully – The Lifestyle Series Pt. 3 | By Christian Confidential & Lacoste

Lacoste | Christian ConfidentialLacoste | Christian ConfidentialThis past weekend I challenged myself to step outside of my comfort zone and experience something that I’ve never done before. If you’ve been following along via social media you’re aware that my friends and I took a short trip to Hamilton, Ontario to part take in some outdoor activities.

With that being said, I’m excited to share with you all the third instalment of my #LiveBeautifully lifestyle series in collaboration with Lacoste. This time around I wanted to highlight the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, specifically the importance of being active and the benefits of eating healthy.
The last few weeks, we’ve been having beautiful weather so I wanted to find something that my friends and I could participate in that wasn’t apart of our regular physical activities (running, training, basketball) that still allowed us to catch up and be social. My creative partner suggested that we head over to Hamilton and go on a hike and that’s exactly what we did. I’m a city boy so I never really thought of hiking to be my ‘thing’ but after talking to my friends and seeing how enthusiastic they were about it, I was down to try it out and face my fear of heights!

Lacoste | Christian ConfidentialWe made our way over to Dundas Peak and Webster’s Falls which are both equally beautiful. It’s crazy to think that places like this have been so close by to us and it’s the first time we visited them.

The hike itself was great for a beginner. It wasn’t super long and had a lot of moments where you wanted to stop and take photos allowing you to take short breaks. We made it to the peak and decided to set up shop to eat our lunches courtesy of Belmonte Raw and take in the view. Lacoste | Christian Confidential

It was a hot day and my friends and I know the importance of staying hydrated and consuming  the right types of food when being active. We all had specially made raw organic meals that were full of nutrients and vitamins to keep us happy and energized, along with juices and plenty of water. My favourite juice this time around was ‘Hydrate’  – it has activated charcoal, alkaline water, lemon and coconut sugar which is great for post workouts. It’s also great for hangovers but we’ll save those details for another post!

This was my first hike and I couldn’t of thought of a better group of friends to experience this with. We laughed, caught up on life and documented the experience through video and photos. Check out the video below to get a glimpse into our experience.

I couldn’t talk about living beautifully and not mention my footwear or apparel. Call me crazy but hike or no hike, crisp white sneakers get me all the time. I decided to wear my new Ampthill LCR SPM sneakers on this hike and they provided me with the right amount of comfort and stability to run around with my friends all day. If you’re not as much of a risk takers as I am to wear white on a hike, they also offer them in a grey colour way with red accents.  The thing that I love about Lacoste and I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before is that they offer classic pieces that no matter what you’re doing (hiking, golfing, brunch, the movies) you always look sharp, which to me is what I call living beautifully! Lacoste | Christian ConfidentialI had such a great time on this little adventure and I hope that it encourages you all to be more active and to try new things! Be active, eat clean, explore new places, wear nice clothes and shoes while doing it all!

Street Style Essentials w/ Vaughan Mills | #TreatTheHeat

Christian Confidential | Vaughan MillsChristian Confidential | Vaughan MillsOver the last few weeks I’ve been working with Vaughan Mills on a cool project that launched today! If you live in the downtown Toronto area you may be in for an upscale treat! Be on the lookout for the Vaughan Mills ‘Fashion Truck’, starting today until the 19th of July, that’s featuring a look that I styled along with 4 other fashion influencers.

Since the Pan Am Games are currently underway, I decided to build a look based around street style essentials with an  athletic feel to it. I picked out items that I think every street style enthusiast should have or could make good use of. To me, a motto jacket, longline tee, skinny jeans and a pair of Nike Roshe One’s are always a good idea.

Not only do you get to check out the looks that we put together, to help beat the heat, enjoy a premium ice cream when you tweet #TreatTheHeat to @Vaughan_Mills. As well, by using the official #hashtag in your tweet you automatically get a chance to win a prize that I picked out! If you know me, you know I couldn’t pick anything other than shoes and trust me these are good ones! Scroll down to see my selection at the bottom hint, they’re Nike’s!

Best of luck, and follow Vaughan Mills on Twitter and Instagram to find out where the ‘Fam Jam’ will be making their stops throughout the week!

My #TDAEROPLAN Experience – Treehouse Party | Lifestyle

TD Aeroplan | Christian Confidential I had the pleasure of attending #GreenSpaceTo’s annual Treehouse Party that took place on the last day of Pride. As you can probably imagine, Pride Week is a huge celebration that celebrates members of the LGBTQ community and in Toronto, we take it very seriously. I’ve never attended this specific party in the past but I’ve heard so many great things, that when I was invited to attend this year, I couldn’t resist.

Not only did I get to attend the Treehouse party, I got to experience the festivities in the most stylish way possible courtesy of TD ‘Aeroplan’ Visa Infinite Privilege Card. Being a TD ‘Aeroplan’ Visa Infinite Privilege cardholder, you’re privy to exclusive perks and at this event those luxuries were very visible. My photographer and I were brought into the event through a VIP entrance, ushered into the credit cards designated lounge, enjoyed gourmet bites, specialty cocktails and most importantly had the best view of party.TD Aeroplan | Christian Confidential TD Aeroplan | Christian Confidential One of the highlights for me while being in the TD Aeroplan lounge was that we had our own personal bartenders, that created molecular cocktails for us to enjoy all afternoon. My photographer and I had such a great time, listening to music, socialising with new friends and learning more about what good things the card does, as a whole. For example, a portion of the ticket price to mingle in this VIP lounge went to support The 519 Organization. The 519 is a Not-For-Profit Organization that does amazing things for the LGBTQ community in Toronto such as; newcomer youth mentorship, wellness classes, and community counselling amongst many other things.

Take a look around at some of the photos that we captured during our time in the lounge and hopefully we’ll see you there next Pride! #ForeverProud #ChristianConfidential #SPTD Aeroplan | Christian Confidential TD Aeroplan | Christian Confidential TD Aeroplan | Christian Confidential

#BETRUE – Promoting Equality in Sports & Athletics | Lifestyle & Fitness

If you’ve been following @ChristianConfidential via social media you may have noticed that my team and I have been working on a  special project with Nike Canada to promote their latest #BETRUE initiative.

#BETRUE is a capsule collection inspired by the LGBT community and celebrates the passion and pursuit of sports by all athletes. The brand helped fund the LGBT Sports Coalition and continues to provide it with support through the  #BETRUE collection.

#BeTrue is a movement that I’m very proud to endorse as it promotes both positivity and equality in sports and in life in general. With the help of Nike Canada, the Christian Confidential team put together a digital campaign that features three awesome guys and myself who are all from different walks of life that come together for our love of athletics, in this case running. With that being said, I think it’s time for you all to meet the guys!#BETRUE | #CHRISTIANCONFIDENTIAL

Meet my friend Nykeem Provo. He’s an up and coming actor and an all around great guy! We met a few years ago at Soho House Toronto and connected instantly over our interest in the arts & entertainment. Nykeem’s favourite sports include basketball, soccer and running. ” I support equality everywhere, but especially in sports. That’s solely due to the fact that no matter what a persons sexual preference is, it doesn’t make them less human. Straight, gay, asexual, we’re all one! – N.Provo

Favourite athlete & why: My favourite athlete is Kobe Bryant. His talent is undeniable and his work ethic is relentless.

Favourite music to work out to: As weird as this may sound, my favourite music to listen to while working out is classical. – More specifically, Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber

What does ‘Being True’ mean to you: “Being True” to me, means to love yourself and others with one objective in mind, growth!#BETRUE | #CHRISTIANCONFIDENTIAL

While growing up, sports and athletics have always played an integral role in my life. I honestly couldn’t picture what I would be like without athletics, whether it be earning the running back position in football, playing the middle position in volleyball or going to Ofsaa in high school for triple jump. Sports have helped shape the person that I am today. It builds character, discipline and grace – all traits that are just as useful on and off the field. I stand behind the ideas of the #BETRUE initiative as I believe promoting equality in sports and life all together is important. No one should be discriminated based on their sexual preference or discouraged from playing their favourite sport. I wear this shirt with confidence & pride and encourage you all to #BETRUE.

Favourite athlete & why: I would have to agree with Nykeem and say Kobe Bryant. He’s been in the game for a long time and doesn’t show any sign of slowing down.

Favourite music to work out to: Hip hop and Trap music always help keep me going when I’m ready to give up.

What does “Being True” mean to you: “Being True” to me, means being as honest as you possibly can with yourself about who you truly are. For some people it’s more difficult than others but when you’re capable of accepting and embracing your core, the good and the bad, it’s truly a beautiful thing.

Get a glimpse into the speed training session that Nykeem, Christian, Daniel & Benjamin participated in to showcase how discrimination based on sexual preference has no place in the realm sports and athletics. #BETRUE #NikeRunning #ChristianConfidential #BETRUE | #CHRISTIANCONFIDENTIAL

Meet my friend and Christian Confidential contributor, Daniel Hundertmark. He works in social media and is also a model based in Toronto, Canada. I was introduced to Daniel by a really close friend of mine and originally connected over our passion for fitness and health. His favourite sports include football, basketball and running. “I support equality within sports because it’s the 21st century and this shouldn’t even be an issue at this point. Whatever an individual’s sexual preference is does not make them less competent than someone that identifies as heterosexual.“ – D.Hundertmark

Favourite athlete & why: My favourite athlete is Connor McDavid. I admire him for his commitment to physical fitness, nutrition, and his willingness to share his knowledge with others on and off the ice.

Favourite music to work out: Trap music is my go-to, when it comes to working out!

What does “Being True” mean to you: “Being True” to me, means not having to put up a façade in order to impress the people around you. “Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.” – Nelson Mandela #BETRUE | #CHRISTIANCONFIDENTIAL

Meet my friend Benjamin Fraser, he’s a recent marketing graduate, a social media influencer for IN Magazine and one of the nicest ‘cool’ guys you’ll ever meet! We both grew up in Ottawa and made our way to Toronto. We connected over our love of fashion and street style and have been friends ever since. Ben’s favourite sports are snowboarding, running and cross training. “I support equality in sports because it can seen as the ultimate equalizer. I think it gives people the opportunity to be seen for their talent and dedication rather than their sexuality.” – B.Fraser

Favourite athlete & why: I can think of a few professional athletes that I admire but my favourite athletes have to be the ones that I interact with on a regular basis – either through run club or cross training. They are the ones that truly inspire me to push harder and reach new fitness goals.

Favourite music to work out to: Cyril Hahn and Kaytranada always keep me going!

What does “Being True” mean to you: “Being True” to me, means knowing and understanding yourself and drawing confidence from that. It brings me a lot of happiness and pride to be able to say that I work with brands like Nike that show their acceptance and support by promoting campaigns like this! It’s a huge step forward and I’m proud to be apart of it. #BETRUE | #CHRISTIANCONFIDENTIAL

I would like to say thank you to all of those that followed along and engaged with us during this two day digital project. I hope that we were able to shed some light and raise awareness to the movement of inclusion, equality and positivity within sports and athletics. This is a subject matter that means a lot to me and if even only one person read this post and felt empowered or encouraged to not let ignorance get in the way of them participating in sports, I would consider this a huge success. Be the the change that you want to see, always #BETRUE

Birthday Weekend Recap

Christian 2.6 | Birthday RecapChristian 2.6 | Birthday RecapIt’s official, I am now another year older and hopefully a little wiser. Last weekend was definitely filled with a lot of love, laughter and positive vibes all around. The night before my birthday (June 18th), I decided to host a little get together for a few friends. We nibbled on charcuterie  and cheese boards, sipped on Freixenet Cava, stayed hydrated with Boxed Water and danced to only the best trap music.. Fetty Wap anyone?!  At midnight we made a quick toast & kept the party going. I honestly don’t think that there’s a better way to ring in your birthday than being surrounded by a beautiful group of friends, old and new.Christian 2.6 | Birthday RecapChristian 2.6 | Birthday Recap  Yashana R, Asia F, Christina P, Alexander L, Sasha E, Zineb S, Stace G, Shayna D, Salina G, Justine & Daniel H.

Christian 2.6 | Birthday RecapMy friends at General Motors gave me crimson red wheels for the weekend!

On my actual birthday, I decided to keep it low key and dedicated the day to taking care of myself (gym, spa, healthy eating and a good night sleep). It’s exactly what I needed to be ready for the adventures that I would get up to on Saturday.Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetChristian 2.6 | Birthday RecapAfter shooting the ‘Live Beautifully’ – The Lifestyle Series Pt. 2 a few weeks back a few of my friends and I have been itching to head back out to Niagara-on-the-Lake to visit some more wineries. An amazing opportunity came up to not only visit a winery but attend the 3rd annual Niagara Wine Festival Tailgate Party. The Christian Confidential team & friends packed our day bags, buckled up and headed out to our first stop, Mike Weir Winery courtesy of Buick Canada in the 2015, Enclave. A crowd favourite for the roomy interior and the OnStar capabilities, which may have saved us from getting lost once or twice.

Mike Weir Winery is definitely a special place – beautiful space, great wine, delicious food (you NEED to try their fries) and an amazing view. We enjoyed bottles of their Underdog wine as well as their Vinyāsa wine, which is a great choice if you’re looking for something low in calories.

My friends and I weren’t really sure what to expect at this event but trust me when I say we were all glad we came out to play. An array of food, wine and culture, there was something for everyone. The party took place in a vineyard and hosted approximately 700 people. . A special thank you to Kimberly Hundertmark for the amazing hospitality that evening.

It was the perfect ending to an amazing day. The highlight for me this weekend was being able to see my friends old and new come together and experiencing this with me. I’m all about creating memories through experiences and this past weekend allowed me to create new ones with people that I love. On that note, I’m looking forward to what 26 has to offer!

New Beginnings | Life + Style Post

New Beginnings | Christian Confidential Well guys, this is my last post before my 26th birthday… sigh it’s crazy how time flies. This last year, has been a real ride – filled with a lot of highs and a few lows but at the end of the day I’m just happy to say that I feel like my life is moving forward in the right direction. I’ve learned quite a few lessons over the year and I’d like to share two of them with you.

The first one is always try and see the glass half full. I’m a Gemini and although I don’t act like I’m sensitive, I definitely am and energy and vibes can really affect me. There were moments that I felt really down over the last year and had to really dig deep to pull myself out of my funk. Something that I’ve focused on over the last few months was to replace those negative thoughts and energy with positive ones. It’s a lot easier said than done but if you make a conscious effort, you’ll gradually notice a difference in yourself and how you react to situations and others around you. Some might call it weird but one thing that I do, is post sticky notes around my washroom mirror with positive quotes and read them out loud in the morning as I start my day. It automatically reassures me of a purpose and jump starts my mind into a positive space. New Beginnings | Christian Confidential The second lesson that I’d like to share with you is the importance of keeping a small circle of friends and family around you at all times. I’ve always known that I’ve been blessed by the Universe in having such a great support system but this year has really shown me how truly blessed I am.  Last year was filled with a lot of changes for me, personally and professionally and there were moments that I wasn’t sure if I was going to get through it all. Having the support from my friends and family not only helped me get through those difficult situations but really let me know that I’m not alone and the moments when I no longer feel that I can be strong, they will be strong for me.  I’ll stop here before I start to get emotional lol.

On that note, I’m super excited to celebrate my birthday and I’m looking forward to seeing what this year has in store for me and all of you guys. I wanna thank you all for coming along on this journey thus far and for letting me be apart of yours, as well. Cheers, to new beginnings!

My 5 Day ‘Reset’ with Belmonte Raw | Juice Cleanse

Belmonte Raw | Christian ConfidentialIf you follow me on Instagram, you would’ve seen that last week I was appointed the title of a #BRawAgent and participated in a 5 day juice cleanse.  This wasn’t my first juice cleanse but it was my longest by an additional two days. Having worked with the brand in the past ‘The Circle’ – luncheon and ‘Sweat With Christian’, I knew that I was in good hands. Belmonte Raw | Christian ConfidentialEveryday, I was delivered a fresh batch of organic cold pressed juice between the hours of 5am and 8am with a schedule and guidelines on when to consume them. I followed the schedule and consumed a lot of water in between juices and went on with my day. The only real adjustment that I made was to my workout regimen. I brought down the intensity of my workouts to accommodate the amount of calories that I was consuming.

The main benefit of being on a juice cleanse is to give your digestive system a break from it’s everyday heavy duties of breaking down solid foods. In addition to giving your digestive system a break a lot of people lose weight, release toxins and gain glowing skin from being on a cleanse. I didn’t lose much weight but my skin does look and feel better. Belmonte Raw | Christian ConfidentialOne thing I do really like about being on a cleanse is that because you follow a schedule, once completing it, you tend to continue out of habit. The last few days post cleanse, I’ve been eating earlier, more regularly and consuming more water.

If you’re in the market for a juice cleanse I would recommend trying out Belmonte Raw. If you’re a beginner, I think three days is sufficient as I found the 4th day really difficult but because I’m super stubborn I continued until the end. If you don’t think a cleanse is right for you, try incorporating juices into your diet. The nutrients that you can get from one juice is the equivalent to sometimes eating pounds of fruits and vegetables, which most of us never do. For more information and to see the various types of cleanses that you can participate in visit BelmonteRaw  and let them know that I sent ya! Belmonte Raw | Christian Confidential

Casual Cool for Summer | Style Post

Forever 21 Men | Christian ConfidentialI’ve been building up my wardrobe, slowly but surely for the summer months. I feel like the last few post I’ve written have all had to do with the excitement of summer but if you live in Canada you definitely understand why. – For all my international readers just bare with me. For me, summer is all about having fun and spontaneous adventures, so I tend to pick out outfits that are super versatile, light and can be worn in various settings. I scored these pretty dope cotton twill shorts from Forever 21 and guess how much they were?! Twelve bucks… not bad! I rarely talk about the price of items as I think you should buy things based on if you really like them or not but I liked these shorts and it was kind of a no brainer at that price point. They also come in a couple other colours. I decided to build on this look with a scoop neck tee, a light denim button down and a pair of kicks from Converse.  This outfit is something I’d wear in a casual setting like; going out for drinks on a patio, a road trip or an afternoon in the park with friends.Forever 21 Men | Christian ConfidentialForever 21 Men | Christian ConfidentialForever 21 Men | Christian ConfidentialWhat I’m Wearing
