It’s been a week since I’ve been back from LA and oh man do I miss it! I don’t think that you guys get how big of a deal this trip really was for me. I’ve been wanting to visit this magical land for years and out of fear I’ve always found a reason to not make it. I was scared that I was going to fall in love with its charm and have to try and figure out a way to stay there! Well, I did indeed love it and I would definitely not mind calling LA home in the future but I’m not as depressed as I thought I would be now that I’m back in Toronto.
The thing that I love about LA is that it made me feel like I was not alone. Growing up in a more conservative area where my dreams weren’t the same as everyone else’s, I always felt like I didn’t belong, like I was really different. That environment made me continuously question if my dreams were crazy and unrealistic. In LA, everybody is a creative, so if I’m crazy then everybody else here is crazy too!
I spent about a week in West Hollywood and really got a chance to take in my surroundings. I was very lucky to have a few friends that are living out there (Melinda, Mishael, Keshia & Lesli) at the moment to show me around and help me discover the real LA. From Runyon Canyon hikes, to the best workout classes in the city, to late night eats, movie premieres and time on set of The Young and the Restless – every day was filled with new adventures!
When I think about the people that are in my life and the experiences that I have under my belt, I truly realize how blessed I am. Life isn’t always easy and it’s really not supposed to be but trips like this past one, makes it all worth while. This experience really taught me to appreciate the things that I have in my life and to never stop believing in my dreams!
As always, I snapped a few photos along the way for you guys – so check them out below!
Until next time,
