Skipping is a very effective pre-workout warm up & a great heart rate elevator all around.  I’ve heard that skipping for ten minutes has the same impact as running an eight minute mile, which makes it a high-burn exercise that has the added benefit of training your basic agility & body coordination, something that a lot of us could work on after spending a winter indoors.  It’s also something that you can do anywhere & without a lot of equipment, making it great for athletes at all levels of sport.
