As promised, we’re back this week with part two of our ‘Street Style’ guide! The thing that I love about street style and fashion in general is that it’s totally your choice of how creative or simple you want to be with it. I always tell my boys that finding a happy medium within those two ends of the spectrum is the best way to go.
TIP: Don’t be afraid to go against the grain. Fashion is all about having fun and expressing yourself! Try on those fitted denim, rock those all black overalls! At the end of the day, you’ll know if it works for you or not.
As I mentioned in part 1 street style is all about swag, and finding your own way of rocking an outfit is the fun part about it.
TIP: An easy way of bringing more depth into your outfit is by layering. Yes, layering, it’s not only for your preppy inspired looks anymore. Look at Kanye West, one of my favourite street style guys, you’ll very rarely find him wearing only one tee or crewneck. Try experimenting with different lengths and fabrics when putting your outfits together. For example; I styled Daniel with a simple denim button up and complimented it with a long line tee underneath.
When in doubt dress from the bottom up. I don’t know if a lot of people do this or it’s just me because of my love of sneakers but I tend to find it easier. Knowing the type of kicks that you want to wear and building your outfit around them is a trick that I like to use a lot.
TIP: Slender kicks are your best friends when it comes to skinny jeans and hi-tops are your best friends when it comes to joggers. If you’re on a budget grab yourself a pair of black and white Hi-Tops! They pair well with the style of bottoms above, super versatile and the more you wear them, the more character they have.
