Los Angeles

Los Angeles: Photo Diary

@christianconfidential  It’s been a week since I’ve been back from LA and oh man do I miss it! I don’t think that you guys get how big of a deal this trip really was for me. I’ve been wanting to visit this magical land for years and out of fear I’ve always found a reason to not make it. I was scared that I was going to fall in love with its charm and have to try and figure out a way to stay there! Well, I did indeed love it and I would definitely not mind calling LA home in the future but I’m not as depressed as I thought I would be now that I’m back in Toronto.

The thing that I love about LA is that it made me feel like I was not alone. Growing up in a more conservative area where my dreams weren’t the same as everyone else’s, I always felt like I didn’t belong, like I was really different. That environment made me continuously question if my dreams were crazy and unrealistic. In LA, everybody is a creative, so if I’m crazy then everybody else here is crazy too!

@christianconfidential@christianconfidentialI spent about a week in West Hollywood and really got a chance to take in my surroundings. I was very lucky to have a few friends that are living out there (Melinda, Mishael, Keshia & Lesli) at the moment to show me around and help me discover the real LA. From Runyon Canyon hikes, to the best workout classes in the city, to late night eats, movie premieres and time on set of The Young and the Restless – every day was filled with new adventures!

When I think about the people that are in my life and the experiences that I have under my belt, I truly realize how blessed I am. Life isn’t always easy and it’s really not supposed to be but trips like this past one, makes it all worth while. This experience really taught me to appreciate the things that I have in my life and to never stop believing in my dreams!

As always, I snapped a few photos along the way for you guys – so check them out below!

Until next time,

NYFW: Men’s Photo Diary

It’s been a little over a week since I’ve been back from New York for Men’s Week and sigh…I wish I was still there. For the last two years, I’ve made attending Men’s Week in Paris a priority but due to a scheduling conflict this season I was unable to make it out there. That being said, I had it in my mind to make it out to New York to check out the action over there and let’s just say it was a trip worth taking!

I love New York in general, so add Men’s Fashion Week into the mix and I knew that it was going to be a great time! The energy, the people, the culture, ugh..it just feeds my soul.

This time in  New York I got to stay in the financial district at The Four Seasons hotel (it’s stunning and the service was on point). I attended a couple shows + presentations, some after parties and events, did some shopping, some fine dining and tried out a few fitness classes.

One of the major highlights for me this trip was attending the Bally x Swizz Beatz party at Public. It was literally a mash up of two of my favourite things, fashion and music! Everyone was dressed well, the vibe was on another level and ASAP ROCKY (pictured above) ended up taking the stage for a quick set!

That same night, my friend Jay and I ended up heading over to 1OAK  and 2 Chainz performed as well. Honestly the nightlife in New York is just crazy and you all know, I love me a good party, especially when I’m away haha!

This trip to New York was a complete reassurance to me that I’m on the right path to figuring out my purpose. I may not know exactly what it is as of yet but I know that it’s going to involve fashion, fitness travel and connecting with people. It’s what makes me feel alive and where I feel the most inspired and connected. Thank you for everything New York, I’ll definitely be back soon!

As always, I took some photos along the way for you guys – I hope you enjoy them and thank YOU guys for continuing to explore this thing called life with me!

Ps. I visited Barry’s Bootcamp for the first time and let’s just say it was hands down one of the best work out classes that I’ve taken. If you’re looking for something that’ll challenge you, this is a must try! For those of you that live in Toronto, Barry’s is opening up there first location later this year – I can’t wait!
