Apparently I can’t get enough of the french language in my life. Fresh off my return from Paris, last week I hopped on a plane to Montreal, Quebec for a futuristic soirée titled, #ALTcourt. #ALTcourt (Alternative Court) was the kick-off party for the Rogers Cup produced by National Bank. It was an edgy, yet trendy party celebrating both fashion and lifestyle. Being that the Rogers Cup takes place in both Toronto and Montreal, the National Bank team flew out 12 Toronto influencers to get the full #ALTcourt experience! Great music, beautiful people, dope art installations and curated cocktails equals, a great night! If you were following along on my Snapchat (CC.Christian), you got to see IRL (In Real Time) how much fun the evening was. If not, no worries – check out the photos & video below to get a glimpse into the fun-filled evening!
Hi guys, I hope that this week has been treating you well! I styled this look a little while ago and I thought I should share it with you guys on the blog. It’s funny because although I love warm weather, I’d much rather dress for the cold. I started paying closer attention to what I’ve been eyeing for my summer wardrobe and let’s just say for the most part it’s oversized sweatshirts, bomber jackets, ripped denim and the odd pair of shorts haha – I’ve got to fix that! In the meantime, I hope you guys are into this look!
Hi guys, I hope that your week has been off to a great start! I’m back with a new style post that I’ve teamed up on with Canada Goose to showcase one of my favorite items from their SS16 Collection. Their Brookvale jacket totally speaks to my lifestyle – it keeps me warm, it’s super light & very versatile (aka, it’s available in black)! It’s the perfect jacket to throw on if you’re heading to the gym, running errands downtown or grabbing lunch with a close friend.
Depending on who you ask, one of the best (or worst) qualities that I possess, is my obsession with finding the next best thing! In regards to fashion and my profession, this trait is totally viewed as a good thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never turn my back on the classics or my go-to brands but there’s something exciting about discovering a new brand or product. Recently, I came in contact with the good folks at Project X Paris – an edgy street wear brand from Paris (obviously) that I’m really feeling at the moment! I decided to style their beige joggers and sweatshirt in this style post with a pair of Axel Arigato hi-tops, that I think play well together. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but lately I’ve been in such a chill vibe when it comes to what I wear but don’t you worry, i’ll be sharing some dapper looks soon, promise!
For quite some time now, I’ve been really into the whole monochromatic look when it comes to my everyday style. Last week, I was looking through my closet and found this bold red polo from Lacoste that I felt like I just needed to wear – please tell me that I’m not the only one that has these moments? I took a page out of my preppy handbook and kept this look super clean, I even tucked in my polo… to me, that’s commitment! It’s fun to switch things up every now and then & to keep people guessing. P.S… It’s the first few days of Spring, I hope you guys are all taking advantage of the sun finally being out past 5pm! Continue Reading…
Hi guys, I hope that your week has started off on a good note! My apologies for being MIA last week, I won’t let it happen again unless I have a super amazing reason (and being busy isn’t one of them). I’m obviously going to talk about this dope casual look that I put together but I wanted to send some positive vibes directly to you guys first . Over the last week or so, I’ve been having some very deep conversations with a few of my close friends and taking some time to reflect on how I’ve been feeling lately. Being a Blogger, I share more parts of my life than most people do and by doing so, I open myself up to more people having perceived notions of me, good and bad (which for the most part, I’m cool with). I mentioned in a previous post, the importance of learning not to care too much about what people think and recently I’ve had a few instances where my advice has been tested. I have pretty thick skin and as much as I’ve learned to ignore a lot of things, negative energy and words can still hurt and get under your skin, sometimes. For those moments that you can’t shake it off right away, just remember you’re only responsible for your actions and not those of others. It’s important to have a strong grasp on who you are, where you’re going and to not let negative people get in the way. Think of these experiences like a test, they only get harder the closer you are to your desired destination. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has these days or deals with these type of situations so I just wanted to share a quick reminder to not let them dim your light. They might not want to see you win **Dj Khaled voice** but I sure do! Continue Reading…
It’s December 1st and as I sit down and write this travel post, I must say that the last half of this year has truly been a blessed one. One of the things that I love about being a blogger is that it opens doors to opportunities that can sometimes be life changing. Last month I got the opportunity to travel to the island of Tobago and learn a little bit about their lifestyle and fashion.
The great people at Fashion Vanguard invited us down to check out their inaugural fashion buyers exhibition. This exhibition showcased 9 reputable designers with roots from the island.
I, of course had my favourites and gravitated towards more of your staples/essentials from a brand titled I Say U Clothing. It’s cool to see what works in regards to fashion in other parts of the world and it’s even cooler to see the influence of different cultures reflected in the garments. Linen (for it’s breathability, I’m sure) was a common fabric used throughout a lot of the featured designers especially the menswear line, Millhouse. Neoprene, which is one of my favourite materials this year was very well displayed throughout some of the womenswear designers such as, Lush Kingdom. Photography by: Vitina Blumenthal for ChristianConfidential.comAfter taking in all the dope fashion, it was time to get a taste of the Tobago lifestyle. Beautiful weather, friendly people and great food (I tried shark for the first time), I’m not really sure what else I could’ve asked for. We spent some time at Pigeon Point beach, partied at the infamous ‘Shade’ nightclub and relaxed by the pool at our villa. All in all, this was a great experience and Tobago is filled with hidden gems and treasure both in fashion and lifestyle. If you’re looking for a destination to unwind and reflect, Tobago is a destination to consider. A special thank you to everyone that made our stay what it was especially; Jamilia, Karen, Kery & Kevon.
Until next time,
