Twenty-Something

@christianconfidential

So… It’s officially been about a week since my birthday and let’s just say that I’m still thinking about how much fun it was. Every year I usually throw a big dinner or have a party of some sort but this year I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something low-key with a small group of people and just kind of go with the flow.  A few of my friends (Shayna, Jay and Vanessa) and I have been talking about how much fun it would be if we all went to Miami together one day, which spawned the idea of this birthday trip. We overpacked our carry-ons with swimsuits, workout gear and party outfits and hopped on an early morning flight to meet our good friends from New York in Miami for an unforgettable couple of days.

@christianconfidential@christianconfidentialIt’s crazy what great company, a beach, some champagne and good music can do for the soul. From start to finish, there was never a dull moment. The highlight moment for me on this trip had to be my birthday dinner at Zuma. The food was amazing, the service was great and the conversations left me feeling inspired and grateful. We spoke about personal goals, life, what we’re thankful for and what we’re looking to accomplish within the next year. Everyone was honest and so supportive of one another and to me that’s the beauty of life and great relationships.

This was one of those trips that I’ll always look back on and cherish the memories that were created. The universe works in the most craziest of ways. A week before I left on this trip, I was fighting a lot of anxiety. I felt like no matter what I was doing, I wasn’t getting ahead in certain areas of my life. Fast forward to the end of this trip, I left with a total different perspective, a more positive outlook and feeling extremely blessed and grateful. I know that I have work to do in order to accomplish what I want to do in life and I think that this year will be all about change and advancement. It’s not going to be easy, I know that there will be uncomfortable moments but I’m ready to take the plunge and see what’s out there for me!

Miami | Travel With ChristianMiami | Travel With ChristianThere’s nothing that I love more than travelling, except maybe travelling with close friends! This year has definitely been one for the books. It’s the year that I’ve taken the most risks, rediscovered myself as a single person, and felt the most pressure to make things happen for me professionally! That being said, at the end of last month it was time to put away my laptop and unwind for a few days. My friends, Shayna and Vanessa who have both been working uber hard thought that it would be dope to go on a mini getaway and celebrate life, explore another city and catch some sun. Miami | Travel With ChristianChosen Destination: Miami Stay: Thompson Miami Beach  Our Go-to’s: Soho House, Lincoln Road, Bodega South Beach  Breakfast: La Provence Dinner: Cecconi’s Miami Nightlife: LIV on Sunday (obviously)!

The thing that I love about Miami is that it’s like those ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ books that you used to read when you were a kid. You can do ‘the most’ or as ‘little’ as you’d like and still have a great time. We opted for something in between the two extremes and legit, never had a dull moment! If you’re looking for a quick getaway, I’d move Miami up to the top of your list.

Birthday Weekend Recap

Christian 2.6 | Birthday RecapChristian 2.6 | Birthday RecapIt’s official, I am now another year older and hopefully a little wiser. Last weekend was definitely filled with a lot of love, laughter and positive vibes all around. The night before my birthday (June 18th), I decided to host a little get together for a few friends. We nibbled on charcuterie  and cheese boards, sipped on Freixenet Cava, stayed hydrated with Boxed Water and danced to only the best trap music.. Fetty Wap anyone?!  At midnight we made a quick toast & kept the party going. I honestly don’t think that there’s a better way to ring in your birthday than being surrounded by a beautiful group of friends, old and new.Christian 2.6 | Birthday RecapChristian 2.6 | Birthday Recap  Yashana R, Asia F, Christina P, Alexander L, Sasha E, Zineb S, Stace G, Shayna D, Salina G, Justine & Daniel H.

Christian 2.6 | Birthday RecapMy friends at General Motors gave me crimson red wheels for the weekend!

On my actual birthday, I decided to keep it low key and dedicated the day to taking care of myself (gym, spa, healthy eating and a good night sleep). It’s exactly what I needed to be ready for the adventures that I would get up to on Saturday.Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetChristian 2.6 | Birthday RecapAfter shooting the ‘Live Beautifully’ – The Lifestyle Series Pt. 2 a few weeks back a few of my friends and I have been itching to head back out to Niagara-on-the-Lake to visit some more wineries. An amazing opportunity came up to not only visit a winery but attend the 3rd annual Niagara Wine Festival Tailgate Party. The Christian Confidential team & friends packed our day bags, buckled up and headed out to our first stop, Mike Weir Winery courtesy of Buick Canada in the 2015, Enclave. A crowd favourite for the roomy interior and the OnStar capabilities, which may have saved us from getting lost once or twice.

Mike Weir Winery is definitely a special place – beautiful space, great wine, delicious food (you NEED to try their fries) and an amazing view. We enjoyed bottles of their Underdog wine as well as their Vinyāsa wine, which is a great choice if you’re looking for something low in calories.

My friends and I weren’t really sure what to expect at this event but trust me when I say we were all glad we came out to play. An array of food, wine and culture, there was something for everyone. The party took place in a vineyard and hosted approximately 700 people. . A special thank you to Kimberly Hundertmark for the amazing hospitality that evening.

It was the perfect ending to an amazing day. The highlight for me this weekend was being able to see my friends old and new come together and experiencing this with me. I’m all about creating memories through experiences and this past weekend allowed me to create new ones with people that I love. On that note, I’m looking forward to what 26 has to offer!

New Beginnings | Life + Style Post

New Beginnings | Christian Confidential Well guys, this is my last post before my 26th birthday… sigh it’s crazy how time flies. This last year, has been a real ride – filled with a lot of highs and a few lows but at the end of the day I’m just happy to say that I feel like my life is moving forward in the right direction. I’ve learned quite a few lessons over the year and I’d like to share two of them with you.

The first one is always try and see the glass half full. I’m a Gemini and although I don’t act like I’m sensitive, I definitely am and energy and vibes can really affect me. There were moments that I felt really down over the last year and had to really dig deep to pull myself out of my funk. Something that I’ve focused on over the last few months was to replace those negative thoughts and energy with positive ones. It’s a lot easier said than done but if you make a conscious effort, you’ll gradually notice a difference in yourself and how you react to situations and others around you. Some might call it weird but one thing that I do, is post sticky notes around my washroom mirror with positive quotes and read them out loud in the morning as I start my day. It automatically reassures me of a purpose and jump starts my mind into a positive space. New Beginnings | Christian Confidential The second lesson that I’d like to share with you is the importance of keeping a small circle of friends and family around you at all times. I’ve always known that I’ve been blessed by the Universe in having such a great support system but this year has really shown me how truly blessed I am.  Last year was filled with a lot of changes for me, personally and professionally and there were moments that I wasn’t sure if I was going to get through it all. Having the support from my friends and family not only helped me get through those difficult situations but really let me know that I’m not alone and the moments when I no longer feel that I can be strong, they will be strong for me.  I’ll stop here before I start to get emotional lol.

On that note, I’m super excited to celebrate my birthday and I’m looking forward to seeing what this year has in store for me and all of you guys. I wanna thank you all for coming along on this journey thus far and for letting me be apart of yours, as well. Cheers, to new beginnings!
