NYFW: Men’s Photo Diary

@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

It’s been a little over a week since I’ve been back from New York for Men’s Week and sigh…I wish I was still there. For the last two years, I’ve made attending Men’s Week in Paris a priority but due to a scheduling conflict this season I was unable to make it out there. That being said, I had it in my mind to make it out to New York to check out the action over there and let’s just say it was a trip worth taking!

I love New York in general, so add Men’s Fashion Week into the mix and I knew that it was going to be a great time! The energy, the people, the culture, ugh..it just feeds my soul.

@christianconfidential

This time in  New York I got to stay in the financial district at The Four Seasons hotel (it’s stunning and the service was on point). I attended a couple shows + presentations, some after parties and events, did some shopping, some fine dining and tried out a few fitness classes.

One of the major highlights for me this trip was attending the Bally x Swizz Beatz party at Public. It was literally a mash up of two of my favourite things, fashion and music! Everyone was dressed well, the vibe was on another level and ASAP ROCKY (pictured above) ended up taking the stage for a quick set!

That same night, my friend Jay and I ended up heading over to 1OAK  and 2 Chainz performed as well. Honestly the nightlife in New York is just crazy and you all know, I love me a good party, especially when I’m away haha!

This trip to New York was a complete reassurance to me that I’m on the right path to figuring out my purpose. I may not know exactly what it is as of yet but I know that it’s going to involve fashion, fitness travel and connecting with people. It’s what makes me feel alive and where I feel the most inspired and connected. Thank you for everything New York, I’ll definitely be back soon!

As always, I took some photos along the way for you guys – I hope you enjoy them and thank YOU guys for continuing to explore this thing called life with me!

Ps. I visited Barry’s Bootcamp for the first time and let’s just say it was hands down one of the best work out classes that I’ve taken. If you’re looking for something that’ll challenge you, this is a must try! For those of you that live in Toronto, Barry’s is opening up there first location later this year – I can’t wait!

So… It’s officially been about a week since my birthday and let’s just say that I’m still thinking about how much fun it was. Every year I usually throw a big dinner or have a party of some sort but this year I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something low-key with a small group of people and just kind of go with the flow.  A few of my friends (Shayna, Jay and Vanessa) and I have been talking about how much fun it would be if we all went to Miami together one day, which spawned the idea of this birthday trip. We overpacked our carry-ons with swimsuits, workout gear and party outfits and hopped on an early morning flight to meet our good friends from New York in Miami for an unforgettable couple of days.

@christianconfidential@christianconfidentialIt’s crazy what great company, a beach, some champagne and good music can do for the soul. From start to finish, there was never a dull moment. The highlight moment for me on this trip had to be my birthday dinner at Zuma. The food was amazing, the service was great and the conversations left me feeling inspired and grateful. We spoke about personal goals, life, what we’re thankful for and what we’re looking to accomplish within the next year. Everyone was honest and so supportive of one another and to me that’s the beauty of life and great relationships.

This was one of those trips that I’ll always look back on and cherish the memories that were created. The universe works in the most craziest of ways. A week before I left on this trip, I was fighting a lot of anxiety. I felt like no matter what I was doing, I wasn’t getting ahead in certain areas of my life. Fast forward to the end of this trip, I left with a total different perspective, a more positive outlook and feeling extremely blessed and grateful. I know that I have work to do in order to accomplish what I want to do in life and I think that this year will be all about change and advancement. It’s not going to be easy, I know that there will be uncomfortable moments but I’m ready to take the plunge and see what’s out there for me!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that sent there wishes on or around my birthday – it truly does mean a lot! Thank you to my friends that made this trip what it was, thank you for just being you and allowing me to be the crazy person that I am haha!

As always, I snapped some photos along the way. I hope you guys enjoy these travel post, I’ll be back with some style post later this week!

NYFW 17 Photo Diary

christian confidential | NYFW 17New York Fashion Week… (sigh) where do I even begin? I told you guys that I was originally set to be in New York for a cool project that I was filming that coincided with Fashion Week (Women’s). I decided to extend my stay in the city to explore, shop and see a few more shows + presentations. I’ve only been to Fashion Week in New York once before which was a lot of fun but this time around the whole experience was kicked up to another level.

One thing that I’ve learned when it comes to  traveling + work is that, it’s so important to have a great team with you and good friends (Shayna, Sean, Jay + Vanessa) – it really makes the experience so much better! From attending shows, to shooting street style, to presentations + appointments, late dinners to the after parties… there was never a dull moment.

As always, I had my camera with me + iPhone 7 (the camera changed my life, review coming shortly) documenting as much of my time away as I could. Keep scrolling down to see some of my favourite moments.

Las Vegas

christian confidential | vegaschristian confidential | vegasSo, it’s been a bit over a week since I’ve been back from Vegas and I already miss it! From lounging by our hotel pool, to our crazy daytime adventures, to the great food, to our wild nights… it was such a blast! My friends Vanessa, Jay & I had the chance to curate our Vegas trip with the help of ExpediaCA and their newly launched #VegasYou feature. If you’re planning a trip to Vegas, I’d suggest that you check it out, especially if you’ve never been. It’s designed to help you pick out the best place to stay based on what you want to do in Vegas i.e.; hotels with the best pools, best fine dining, best shopping etc.. We’re all suckers for fine dining, minimal design and more boutique style hotels, so the SLS Las Vegas won us over!

Another cool thing about the #VegasYou feature is that when it separates the hotels into different categories, it also breaks down what each place has to offer – making it super easy for you to scout the places that you want to check out aka a time saver.

If you’re heading to Vegas, the best advice I can give you is to go there with an open mind and a good group of friends. It’s a place where anything and everything can happen… honestly, truly (insert Joanne The Scammer voice)! Some of the highlights for me, had to be our helicopter ride over the Vegas strip at night – so beautiful, our spontaneous road trip to the dessert,  our last supper at Mr.Chow and our visit to the Neon Museum (who knew that Vegas had so much history, it was really cool to learn)!

As always, I’ve listed a few places worth checking out while in Vegas (mostly to eat & party) + snapped a few pics!

To eat: IN-N-OUT - need I say more?  Mr. Chow - the vibe & the food are so on point! Lavo  – the patio has a great view of the strip! Beauty & Essex supper club vibes! The Perq – great breakfast spot!

To Party: OMNIA craziest nightclub I’ve experienced! Marquee  - a fun crowd! The Light - interesting crowd but the most fun we had!

24 Hours in Montreal with National Bank

ALTcourt

Apparently I can’t get enough of the french language in my life. Fresh off my return from Paris, last week I hopped on a plane to Montreal, Quebec for a futuristic soirée titled, #ALTcourt. #ALTcourt (Alternative Court) was the kick-off party for the Rogers Cup produced by National Bank. It was an edgy, yet trendy party celebrating both fashion and lifestyle. Being that the Rogers Cup takes place in both Toronto and Montreal, the National Bank team flew out 12 Toronto influencers to get the full #ALTcourt experience! Great music, beautiful people, dope art installations and curated cocktails equals, a great night! If you were following along on my Snapchat (CC.Christian), you got to see IRL (In Real Time) how much fun the evening was. If not, no worries – check out the photos & video below to get a glimpse into the fun-filled evening!

WMC Fashion Week A/W 2014 | Recap

RideInStylexCadillac | Christian Confidential

This is definitely an exciting time for Toronto’s fashion scene – in every way things seem to be getting bigger & brighter!  With the excitement of World Mastercard Fashion Week behind us I want to take a minute & quickly recap some of the week’s highlights & talk about what we have to look forward to going into Fall/Winter 2014.

RideInStylexCadillac | Christian ConfidentialThe Mackage & HD Homme collections were definite show-stoppers, as was Ken Chow’s work for Krane Designs (which I had the pleasure of walking in!).  This group of Canadian designers has me planning my F/W 2014 wardrobe well in advance with a heavy emphasis on mixed materials & especially suede – in both blazer & jacket form, HD Homme made a splash with this luxe material.  While we’ve come to expect refined, military-inspired pieces from Ken Chow, his collections always impress with an urbane masculinity that I’m completely obsessed with.

RideInStylexCadillac | Christian ConfidentialRideInStylexCadillac | Christian ConfidentialRideInStylexCadillac | Christian ConfidentialRideInStylexCadillac | Christian ConfidentialRideInStylexCadillac | Christian ConfidentialFrom Europe, GSUS schooled us on how to walk the line between too-much and just-enough denim, and Toronto based LINE Knitwear let us know that Royal Blue will be in style long after Spring is over.  Designer Nikki Wirthensohn (Narces) showed a light & lively collection of ladies’ dresses, while Mikael D brought us offsite to a show at the Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District that was memorable for it’s intimate staging & high fashion evening wear.

Of course it’s just as much about what happens after the shows as what happens in them and the after parties this year did not disappoint.  The week kicked off with an opening party at the Thompson Hotel hosted by Spiro Mandylor & featuring Vawk, but Toronto hotspots Lee, Everleigh & the Soho House played host to industry events all week long.  Friday night’s after-party at the Templar Hotel hosted by Jay Strut & Tony Pham was definitely a highlight!

RideInStylexCadillac | Christian ConfidentialRideInStylexCadillac | Christian Confidential

Nothing beats the backstage experience – the energy & adrenaline is contagious, as is the passion & determination.  So much goes into a runway show that the audience never experiences & all together it makes for an amazing atmosphere.  You also never know who you’ll run into, and I’ll never complain for getting to rub elbows with the likes of Coco Rocha, Shenae grimes & Lisa Tant.  It’s company that I could get used to!

Of course I have to mention Cadillac, whose generosity had Sasha Exeter & me riding in style all week long.  It looks & feels like a luxury car, and while I’m no expert it definitely was something to look forward to each day.  The car basically drives itself & sounds amazing – who could ask for anything else.
