Oversized Flex

@christianconfidentialHi guys – I’m back on the blog today with a cozy spring time look that I shot before the crazy ice storm hit Toronto!  Can you believe that we had an ice storm in the month of April?!  It’s absolutely insane to me! I swear if the weather doesn’t get warm quickly, I’ll have no choice but to go on a long beach vacation (no joke haha!).

I love this look, it’s so me at the moment. I love the oversized, Japanese street style aesthetic it’s inspired from. From the oversized denim jacket, to the wide leg pants to the chunky sneakers, I think they all compliment each other so well.

Whenever I’m in Toronto, I’m always on the go and my goal is to always be comfortable but not look like a blob at the same time (haha),  so this outfit works for me. I could wear this to a collection preview, to do stylist pulls and attend a lunch meeting – while still being stylish and comfortable.

Behind-The-Scenes+ Runway Moments with Perry Ellis at NYFWM

@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

As promised in my previous blog post, I have more content to share from my project with Perry Ellis around their latest runway show! If you guys were following along on social media last week, you know that I was in New York for Men’s Fashion Week and working on a cool behind-the-scenes collaboration with Perry Ellis.

The morning of the show, I spent some time in the Perry Ellis showroom going through their massive (and I mean MASSIVE) archive collections to put together a look for the show. I’m not going to lie, I felt like a kid in a candy store with all of the options that I had to choose from. I ended up narrowing it down to my top three looks and with your guys help via Instagram, I opted for the look below.
@christianconfidnetial

The hustle and bustle during a show at New York Fashion Week is like no other! You’ve got a full crew of make up artists, hairstylists, male models, dressers, pr,  photographers, videographers, bloggers etc… it’s nuts! When I arrived, the models were just getting ready to run through their final rehearsal and then  back upstairs for any last minute make up touches and into their first look!

10 minutes before the show began, I made my way downstairs to be seated and catch up with a few of my blogger buddies attending the show.

The show had a very clean and minimal routine for the models, allowing guests to really take in the clothing. I, myself was a huge fan of this presentation, specifically as I felt that it gave a true nod to the heritage of the brand. There was a lot of vintage feels coming down the runway, especially the jackets (which I love) but with a modern twist.

The thing that I liked the most about this collection was that there was something to wear for every occasion in a man’s every day life. It really showed how much thought the creative director Michael Maccari and his team put into it all. .

I can’t wait to get my hands on some of those pieces and see what they come up with next!

21 Days In Miami

@christianconfidential

Can you believe that it’s the new year already? Like it’s nut! I feel like 2017 came and went by so quickly if it wasn’t for me capturing moments for my blog I don’t think I would’ve been able to remember everything that went down.

That being said, at the end of November my cousin shared a quote that stuck in my head for the rest of the year. “May this last month of 2017 be the plot twist you’ve been waiting for.” and let me tell you that it was!

At the beginning of December my friends and I decided to do a last minute jaunt to Miami for Art Basel. When I say last minute, I mean, L-A-S-T  M-I-N-U-T-E! We literally booked our flights and accommodations the night before, it was so crazy. If you know me, then you know I’m much more of a planner, so this trip was already starting out a lot different.

The plan was to arrive on thursday and leave on sunday. We were all having so much fun, checking out the art installations, having lunches at Soho Beach House, dinners at Komodo and Nusr-Et and partaking in the Miami nightlife (we left E11even on the friday night at 8:30 am to give you guys an idea of how fun it was haha).
@christianconfidential@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

When the sunday came around, I was nowhere close to being ready to go back home. Toronto just got their first snow fall and the temperature was plummeting well below zero. My friend Jay and I decided to stay for a few weeks longer and complete the rest of our work for the year in Miami. Honestly, it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time! Everyday I woke up early, got a workout in (Equinox South Beach) then grabbed my laptop and got to work while laying out on the beach in 26+ degree weather!

This was the first time that I wasn’t surrounded by snow for Christmas and to be honest, I wasn’t mad about it! In Miami, they’re very festive with their decorations and you’re still able to feel the Christmas vibe.

I also took this time to really reflect on the direction that my life is going in and what I need to do in the New Year to reach higher heights.

All in all, this was a great experience that I’m really glad that I got the chance to experience and as usual I took a couple pics (maybe more than usual) for you guys to check out!

Believe it or not but I actually shot all of my content with my iPhone 7! I’ve had this phone for about a year now and I’m still blown away by the great quality that it captures. It gets me amped to test out the new iPhone 8plus and the X!  #ShotOnIphone

I hope that 2018 is off to a great start for all of you and that you push through with your resolutions as hard as some of them may be! Remember, you’ve only got one life to life, so whatever it is that you want out of it, go for it and never settle!

Perry Ellis: A Fragrance Story

@christianconfidential

 Every now and then I get the chance to collaborate with a brand that really encourages me to tap into my creative space and create something that’s really different. If you’re into menswear, you’re definitely familiar with the heritage brand Perry Ellis. I remember while growing up and going through my step dads closet and seeing the logo on so many classic staples. You guys know me, I love my edgy statement pieces, my casual cozy pieces and my classic staples.

@christianconfidential

Perry Ellis is known for its suiting, contemporary apparel, cutting edge athleisure wear (have you seen their 360 collection?!) and are also pretty invested in the fragrance department. Last month, they came out with their newest scent, Perry Ellis and it’s a solid contender. A scent is personal, it’s a representation of you, and for me, I always choose my scents wisely. Think about it, there’s two things that people will always remember you by, 1. the way you made them feel and 2. your scent. I attach people and memories to scents all the time, kind of how I attach experiences to my favourite songs (PartyNextDoor’s Break From Toronto, will always remind me of my first visit to Paris).

@christianconfidential

The new Perry Ellis scent is for the modern day guy that’s a forward thinker, fashion conscious with a taste for classic and heritage style. Notes from Italian bergamot, crushed lavender and infused verbena gives this scent a refreshing finish.

For this project, my team and I wanted to really bring out the values behind this fragrance in a special way. In this short spot that we created with the brand, you’ll see me in my most intimate state that I’ve been on camera to date. I shed a layer or two, and let myself be vulnerable for you guys to get a glimpse into what I aspire for, what I struggle with and what I’ve overcome throughout my journey this far. Believe it or not, one of the most important things that helps build my confidence day to day, is knowing that I’m wearing a fragrance that supports and reflects my ideas and vision.

Danger Zone

@christianconfidential The other day I went to grab lunch with my cousin at La Carnita and ended up throwing this look together. I had no intention of shooting it but the longer I wore it, the more I really liked it. It’s simple, athletic and super cozy but for me, I think that what I love  about this look is the way that the light colours and tones play together. The different shades of blue and the ruggedness of the denim jacket really adds dynamic to the outfit – I hope you guys are into it too!

Athleisure Moment

@christianconfidential

First off, are you guys as into this parka as much as I am?!?! Right before heading to New York for Men’s Fashion Week, I stopped by the COS showroom for some inspiration and I noticed this jacket – I knew that I had to have it! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it but I knew that it was such an iconic piece that I would make it work. I wanted to keep this look super casual and athletic, so I paired this oversized parka with a classic tank, some white joggers and my new Cortez sneakers (you’ll see me wearing these a lot).

This look won’t be for everyone but if you’re confident and have some height on ya (I’m 6’0 feet), I’d definitely recommend trying to rock something like this. It’s so bad ass and functional at the same time!

NYFW: Men’s Photo Diary

@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

It’s been a little over a week since I’ve been back from New York for Men’s Week and sigh…I wish I was still there. For the last two years, I’ve made attending Men’s Week in Paris a priority but due to a scheduling conflict this season I was unable to make it out there. That being said, I had it in my mind to make it out to New York to check out the action over there and let’s just say it was a trip worth taking!

I love New York in general, so add Men’s Fashion Week into the mix and I knew that it was going to be a great time! The energy, the people, the culture, ugh..it just feeds my soul.

@christianconfidential

This time in  New York I got to stay in the financial district at The Four Seasons hotel (it’s stunning and the service was on point). I attended a couple shows + presentations, some after parties and events, did some shopping, some fine dining and tried out a few fitness classes.

One of the major highlights for me this trip was attending the Bally x Swizz Beatz party at Public. It was literally a mash up of two of my favourite things, fashion and music! Everyone was dressed well, the vibe was on another level and ASAP ROCKY (pictured above) ended up taking the stage for a quick set!

That same night, my friend Jay and I ended up heading over to 1OAK  and 2 Chainz performed as well. Honestly the nightlife in New York is just crazy and you all know, I love me a good party, especially when I’m away haha!

@christianconfidential

This trip to New York was a complete reassurance to me that I’m on the right path to figuring out my purpose. I may not know exactly what it is as of yet but I know that it’s going to involve fashion, fitness travel and connecting with people. It’s what makes me feel alive and where I feel the most inspired and connected. Thank you for everything New York, I’ll definitely be back soon!

As always, I took some photos along the way for you guys – I hope you enjoy them and thank YOU guys for continuing to explore this thing called life with me!

Ps. I visited Barry’s Bootcamp for the first time and let’s just say it was hands down one of the best work out classes that I’ve taken. If you’re looking for something that’ll challenge you, this is a must try! For those of you that live in Toronto, Barry’s is opening up there first location later this year – I can’t wait!

Something Tells Me

@christianconfidentialHi guys – I hope that you all had a great weekend! For me, I feel like it came and went so quickly but that’s usually how I feel when I’m having a lot of fun. Last weekend was pretty busy with personal stuff and events but I still managed to shoot a style post. This look is giving me total retro + weekend vibes. It’s definitely not going to be for everyone but it works for me and hopefully some of you fashion risk takers! I decided to pair some denim overalls with an oversized hoodie, some high socks and the new Puma Tsugi Shinsei sneakers. It’s cozy, there’s a pop of colour and totally something I feel comfortable and confident in!

On-The-Go With Uniqlo

@christianconfidential@christianconfidentialHi guys, I hope that this week has been treating you well so far! This week has been pretty crazy for me and it’s only Wednesday (eeek!), that being said I’m back on the blog today to share my latest style collaboration with Uniqlo Canada.

You guys know that my style is heavily influenced by my mood and being that I’m a gemini, it changes almost every hour (I wish I was joking lol), kind of like my daily schedule. Some days are spent locked away at home editing photos and creating pitches, while others are full with photo shoots, meetings and events. On my busy social days it’s important for me to pick out clothes that are versatile and can be worn in multiple settings. This look that I put together with Uniqlo is the perfect example of one of those days!

A white short sleeve tee tucked into a pair of relaxed fit navy ankle pants, some white low-top sneakers, glasses and a light weight oversized coat (it’s spring so the weather is moodier than I am), does more than the trick for me!
@christianconfidentialThe key piece in a day-to-night outfit is essentially, the pants. I tend to go for a darker colour way as it’s always viewed as more sleek and in my opinion more versatile for different settings. These ankle pants have a relaxed fit and a belt-like elastic waist that makes them much more comfortable than your standard chino or dress pants. If you see me on the streets, 8 out of 10 times, i’ll have a bag/backpack with me. It usually has my laptop, a camera, some cologne and a spare piece of clothing or two.

Which leads me right into my night look. I changed the colour of my day shirt and shoes to black. Like I mentioned earlier about a darker colour way for the pants being viewed as more sleek, the same rule goes for your tops and footwear. Even though, I am still wearing sneakers (very rarely will you catch me in dress shoes), I feel much more comfortable and confident in my look to potentially attend an evening media preview, a restaurant opening or even a date over cocktails (very rare scenario). Either way, when it comes to having to dress for different events and lugging around a suitcase with multiple outfits isn’t an options, always remember to 1. keep it simple 2. make sure that you’re comfortable 3. choose the base of your outfit wisely!
