The Rest of Summer in H&M

@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

They say that time flies when you’re having fun and this summer has definitely proven that. Whether it was spending time on the beach in Miami, spending a week in Paris, having brunch with friends in Toronto or jetting off to Osheaga in Montreal with H&M this past weekend -it’s been a summer for the books and it’s not even over yet!

I told myself this season I was going to experiment more with my style and embrace a few new trends. When it comes to dressing, I tend to lean more on the street/athleisure style for my day-to-day but I do love dressing up for events and special occasions.

In regards to trends this season, there were a few that really resonated with me; 1. dad sneakers ( I love a chunky sneaker so I wasn’t surprised that I fell for this one), 2. wide leg trousers (ever since my trip to New Orleans, I’ve had a special place in my heart for them so I was excited to see them in stores for SS18) and 3. prints and patterned shirts (this has got to be the trend that I’ve embraced the most).

I don’t know what it is about prints and patterns for me this summer, but they work with everything! You can dress them up, dress them down, tuck them in, wear them out, they can be fitted, they can be loose, you can litterally make them your own!

For some of you guys, you might think it’s too much or feel that it makes you stand out a lot so I wanted to take the time to show you different ways that you can style them and feel comfortable with your look.

I took three different styles of prints/patterned shirts from H&M and styled them three ways! Trust me when I tell you, I had a lot of fun putting these outfits together and have worn each of them out and the feedback was great!

I’ve broken down each look below and shared the occasions that I wore each outfit and I want to challenge you guys to do something! We’ve got one month and a bit left of summer – let’s make the most of it style wise. Try something different with your look, don’t be afraid of colours, or patterns and put yourself out there a little – because I know I will!

@christianconfidentialThis outfit is a more elevated way to wear a printed shirt. Instead of a regular Oxford shirt I opted for one with stripes and tucked it in to a pair of white skinny denim. This is an outfit that I wore to a friends celebration brunch but I would also wear it out to watch a tennis match or even a business lunch. It’s clean, it’s stylish and it shows your guests that you know a thing or two about fashion.

This outfit is a more fun take on wearing prints/patterns. This is for those hot summer days or nights that you’re attending a festival, a concert or an outside gathering! It’s the perfect alternative to a tank or a sleeveless top. It’s a light material so it’s breathable, you can leave it buttoned up or unbuttoned and it looks like you’ve put more thought into your overall look!

@christianconfidentialThis outfit is my look for a nice evening out in the summer! The floral prints make for a great conversation piece and tucking it in to a pair of fitted black denim, elevates the entire look. I would wear this look  to a nice dinner on a rooftop patio or to a nice bar for drinks with friends or even on a date. To me, this outfit is letting people know that you’re confident and that you’re in total control of your personal style.

Going Places

@christianconfidentialSo, I just got back from Montreal for Osheaga with H&M and I have to say that it was such a crazy experience! I’m thinking about doing a blog post about the whole experience featuring festival fashion, my favourite performances and other random captured moments  (like these photos) – so look out for it. I had no intention on making this look into a post but on my way to brunch over the weekend, it’s like everything just fell into place.

I picked up this hoodie at the pop-up shop that Places+Faces were having that weekend hosted by my good friends from CNTRBND. Originally, I was opting for the black colour way but at the last moment I went for the purple just to switch things up – and I’m glad that I did!

I paired it with my favourite vintage distressed shorts and my Yeezy 500’s and it just became a LOOK!

Retro Style with Simons

@christianconfidentialI know, I know… M-I-A much?!?! Honestly, I don’t even have a good excuse to explain why I haven’t been on my blog as much as I should be but please don’t hate me! It’s crazy because I’ve been pretty busy this summer working on projects but most of it has been living solely on social media @christianconfidential.

That being said, I definitely need to show more love to you guys and keep my site updated on the regular. These images are from a recent project I did  for Simons, in efforts to promote a new younger line that they’re pushing called, DJAAB. I would describe this collection as an ode to retro street style with a modern twist to it. If you’re into oversized fits, vibrant colours and comfort this line definitely has something for you.

These were my favourite images and looks that I put together featuring pieces from their collection – Also check out the video that my team and I shot for it here!

Off-White x Nike Zoom Fly Mercurial Flyknit

@christianconfidential So, if you’re into sneakers you’re definitely familiar with the collaborations that have been going on with Off-White and Nike. Last week, my friends from Nike surprised me with a pair of the Off-White x Nike Zoom Fly Mercurial Flyknit sneakers and I haven’t been able to take them off! They’re super light, comfortable and pretty much complete my summer uniform (cut-off tees, shorts and high knee socks). They drop tomorrow at select Nike stores and online. If you’re able to cop a pair, I’d definitely recommend getting them!

Feels Like Summer

@christianconfidential  So, I shot this look for an Instagram project that I worked on recently for Nordstrombut I felt it was only fair to share the images on the blog too! I love this look, to me it’s effortless yet stylish and giving me a total New York summer vibe. You know, like in the middle of July when it’s humid and sunny and you just throw on a loose print shirt and some jeans?  That’s exactly where it takes me haha! Prints and pattern shirts are almost the only things I’m really into at the moment, so take this as your warning that you’ll be seeing a lot of them this season!

A Trend To Stay

@christianconfidentialSo, I’m currently in the middle of figuring out what my official vibe for spring/summer 18 is going to consist of. Last summer, I was obsessed with the whole athleisure movement and as a result, my day-to-day vibe was basically that. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m getting older (sigh…I hate to admit it) but I’ve been so much more open to dressing more sharper on a regular basis.

Not only am I more open to dressing sharper, I’ve become much more open to playing with colours, like I did in New Orleans.

Speaking of New Orleans, one trend that I really pushed while I was out there and I think will stick with me throughout spring/summer, is the wide leg trouser! I don’t know what it is but I think that they’re so cool and really add something to the dynamic of an outfit.

For this look, I styled a pair of wide leg trousers from Perry Ellis with a short sleeve crew neck, some flashy glasses and a pair of classic white sneakers. Personally, this look is giving me total life right now! It’s simple yet classic but at the same time the trousers and accessories elevate the vibe completely. You could catch me wearing this look at a daytime event, a lunch meeting or brunch on the weekend.

Summer Vibes In May

@christianconfidential Hi babes, I hope you guys had an amazing weekend! I’m back on the blog today to share this summer inspired look that I shot yesterday. It’s crazy because two weeks ago we had a massive snow storm and this weekend the temperature was well above 20+ degrees – it really felt like we skipped spring and went straight into summer. To be honest, I wouldn’t be mad about that at all, daddy loves the HEAT haha!

I told you guys that I wanted to switch up my style game a bit for the summer and dress up a little more and for me, this is a major start! A Printed shirt, linen pants and classic style sneakers, that’s currently my vibe! I wore this outfit out to brunch with one my close friends and felt totally comfortable and stylish at the same time. I hope you guys like it!

Oversized Flex

@christianconfidentialHi guys – I’m back on the blog today with a cozy spring time look that I shot before the crazy ice storm hit Toronto!  Can you believe that we had an ice storm in the month of April?!  It’s absolutely insane to me! I swear if the weather doesn’t get warm quickly, I’ll have no choice but to go on a long beach vacation (no joke haha!).

I love this look, it’s so me at the moment. I love the oversized, Japanese street style aesthetic it’s inspired from. From the oversized denim jacket, to the wide leg pants to the chunky sneakers, I think they all compliment each other so well.

Whenever I’m in Toronto, I’m always on the go and my goal is to always be comfortable but not look like a blob at the same time (haha),  so this outfit works for me. I could wear this to a collection preview, to do stylist pulls and attend a lunch meeting – while still being stylish and comfortable.

Season Pushing in NOLA

@christianconfidential

I don’t think I’ve ever embraced bright colours as much as I did on my recent trip to New Orleans. It’s crazy what visiting  a new city and having some good weather will do to your personal style. I’m really loving the risks that I took with this look. It’s different from my everyday outfits but it really works, at least for me. I decided to keep it light and bright in terms of colours and tones. This is a look that I’d wear for a day of exploring or to attend an outdoor gathering in the Spring. It’s light and loose fitting, allowing you to breath and feel comfortable in warm weather.
