Santa Monica: Photo Diary

@christianconfidential @christianconfidential

 Hi guys, so I’m currently in California for the first time (I can’t believe its taken me this long to come out here) and I’m in love! Yesterday, one of my favourite people Mindy and I headed to Santa Monica to do some exploring! We did a lot of walking (which a lot of people don’t like to do out here haha), ate some good food, sipped on nice wine and ended the day at the Santa Monica Pier. There’s something about the water that just always leaves me feeling recharged and capable of doing anything! I’m going to keep this post short just because I’m still here and I have to get ready for dinner but in the meantime, I snapped a few photos along the way for you guys. Believe it or not, this was all shot on my iPhone – ayyyy!

xx

Lately, I’ve been really into matching sets, especially when it comes to hoodies and joggers. Some people might say that this is lazy dressing but I totally fucks with it! This is something that I would wear to run errands, head to and from the gym, and to the airport for a long flight. I got my hands on this Champion reverse weave set earlier in the summer and I’ve been repeating it ever since (see my birthday recap post)!  I’m in love with the colour way, the fit (oversized, of course!) and it’s versatility. Plus, with hibernating season right around the corner (aka winter), I’m sure i’ll be living in these for a couple more months!

The Weekend PT.2

@christianconfidential | The Weekend

So, I don’t want to jinx it but I think that I’m finally getting back into my creative swing again! This last year, I’ve gone through so many ups and downs in various aspects of my life that in all honesty left me unmotivated to do almost anything. Hence, why I haven’t been as consistent in creating content as I have in the past. I’m learning more and more that the answer to getting out of my feelings for me is to not put too much pressure on myself and to just fight through it. A little advice that a friend gave me that I’d like to share with you guys is; to not let what’s happening in your life right now distract you from the bigger picture.. – If you keep that in mind, it’ll make the tough times a lot easier! I felt like I needed to share a little about this with you guys just because I would never want you guys to think that I don’t take this platform seriously. Some of  you guys have been on this journey with me from the jump and I appreciate it so much!

Anyways, that’s enough with all the feelings for today and now onto this look!  It’s cool, it’s cozy, it’s me… on the weekend. You can catch me in something like this on a Saturday, heading to a casual brunch, going shopping or hanging out with friends. I love the athletic and minimal aesthetic to it. It’s doing something for me but not too much! I’m into it, I hope y’all are too!

Ps. I’m going to give you a warning to expect these Alexander Wang x Adidas Originals collaboration sneakers to show up a lot, I’m still obsessed with them and they just continue to stay in heavy rotation!

Ride The Wave

@christianconfidentialIt’s been a whirlwind of a time, both good and bad over the last few weeks for me. I, honestly haven’t had this bad of ‘growing pains’ in a very long time. Things that used to fulfill me don’t seem to cut it anymore and finding the answer as to what I need to do differently to correct those feelings haven’t been the easiest. Sometimes I wish that life could just be as easy as getting dressed comes to me but unfortunately it’s not. Long story short, my apologies again for not being as active as I usually am on the blog but thank you guys for riding with me.

Here’s a look that I styled over the weekend that I hope that you guys like. I’m mixing some old items with a few new ones with this look. A pair of loose denim, an old light weight bomber, a basic long sleeve tee and my new Alexander Wang for Adidas Originals sneakers.

@christianconfidential `

Hi guys – I hope that life has been treating you really well! Life for me (as always) has kind of been a whirlwind of ups and downs. Man, trying to figure out the next steps for your life can become so time consuming, it’s like can someone just give me the answers and I’ll make it all happen haha. In all honesty though, I’ve been working really hard on figuring out exactly what makes me happy and what are the next steps that I need to take to propel my personal life and career to the next level. I just want to live my best life in my zone of excellence moving forward.

That’s enough about my personal life right now, let’s talk about this look! Recently, I was asked to participate in a campaign for Yorkville Village (a small but cute community close to downtown Toronto).  Although I don’t ‘live’ in Yorkville, it’s basically become my second home. My gym is located there (Catalyst), some of my favourite restaurants are in the area and my friends own one of the coolest boutiques there aka CNTRBND. This look is casual, light and has a rebel flair to it. You could easily catch me wearing something like this on a regular day in the area. I hope you guys like it!

Athleisure Moment

@christianconfidential

First off, are you guys as into this parka as much as I am?!?! Right before heading to New York for Men’s Fashion Week, I stopped by the COS showroom for some inspiration and I noticed this jacket – I knew that I had to have it! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it but I knew that it was such an iconic piece that I would make it work. I wanted to keep this look super casual and athletic, so I paired this oversized parka with a classic tank, some white joggers and my new Cortez sneakers (you’ll see me wearing these a lot).

This look won’t be for everyone but if you’re confident and have some height on ya (I’m 6’0 feet), I’d definitely recommend trying to rock something like this. It’s so bad ass and functional at the same time!

The Weekend

@christianconfidential Hi guys, I’m back on the blog today with a new style post just in time for the weekend.  This look is totally my vibe right now, it’s clean, it’s casual and has a little dapper twist to it. I’m usually not the person to mix collared shirts with athletic apparel but for this outfit, it just works for me. I paired my oversized collared shirt with a pair of aqua blue track pants and my new ultra boost sneakers to complete the look.  This is that fun outfit that you can wear confidently to brunch, to run errands or to just hang out on a patio with friends sipping rosé.

Ps. Rosé has definitely become my obsession this summer, that and the new album CTRL by SZA!!!

Nuuuu Wave

@christianconfidential Hey homies, did you miss me? I’m back on the blog today with some new style content that I think you guys are going to really like. If you’ve been following me on social media for a while, you’ve probably noticed a shift in my content over the last 6 months. For so long, I’ve been creating content that followed a very minimal, clean and somewhat restrictive aesthetic. I loved it and I think that you guys did too but in order to keep growing creatively, it’s always best to change things up. Since earlier this year, I’ve been experimenting with more colours, different shoot locations (no more all white, grey and black backgrounds) and different ways of editing my pictures. I’m really liking the direction that my content has been going in and I’ve really started to embrace the challenge.

This specific style post really embodies the new wave that I’ve been on in so many ways. I love the choice of the bold colour joggers (℅ Puma), the edgy shoot location and the use of shadows and lighting.

In regards to this look, I would describe it as athleisure meets street. I love how all of the pieces flow together and the colours tie into each another. Depending on how hot it is, you could catch me downtown doing a million things in this look. It’s comfortable, it’s stylish and makes a bold statement all at the same time!

Something Tells Me

@christianconfidentialHi guys – I hope that you all had a great weekend! For me, I feel like it came and went so quickly but that’s usually how I feel when I’m having a lot of fun. Last weekend was pretty busy with personal stuff and events but I still managed to shoot a style post. This look is giving me total retro + weekend vibes. It’s definitely not going to be for everyone but it works for me and hopefully some of you fashion risk takers! I decided to pair some denim overalls with an oversized hoodie, some high socks and the new Puma Tsugi Shinsei sneakers. It’s cozy, there’s a pop of colour and totally something I feel comfortable and confident in!
