Lace-Effect

@christianconfidential So, I really made the most of my time while in New York and even got a chance to shoot some street style content for the blog. This is a look that I put together, incorporating a trend that came up a lot during Men’s Week (New York, London, Milan & Paris) – lace shirts and blazers. The moment that I saw ASAP Rocky sporting this trend, I was on the hunt for the perfect rendition to style my own way. I decided to dress up the trend this time with some wide-leg trousers, statement sunglasses and my signature harness boots.

I’m really happy with the way this look turned out, it’s definitely not going to be for everyone but for the fashion forward thinking guy, I’d suggest giving it a shot!

Make It Summer But In Black

@christianconfidential

Hey guys,  guess who’s back with another look! Honestly it feels good to be shooting content again, especially with this amazing weather we’ve been having this week in London! My friend Natasha and I went out for afternoon drinks on a cute terrace in South Kensington, called April’s Cafe, and this was the look I opted for. I wanted something that embraced summer but was still super chic. I went for an all-black look (screams summer, I know) but switched it up by wearing a shirt with a floral/plant print. To me, this was a great way to add a little more fun to my look, rather than playing it safe with a plain black tee or shirt.

I love the way this outfit came together, it’s easy, it’s classy and just totally my vibe at the moment. Check out  a few more pics below!

Just a Pop of Red

@christianconfidential

Two posts in one week, what has gotten into me (haha)??!? Let’s just keep this momentum going as long as we can. It’s crazy what a change of scenery and good weather can do for your soul. I shot this look last week in an area in London called, Belgravia. It’s quiet, it’s beautiful and totally worked with the aesthetic of this outfit. I opted to do an all-black look with just a pop of colour with my Balenciaga trainers.

I’ve had this jacket from the Eytys x HM collaboration for a little while and wanted to wait for the perfect opportunity to style it. I love the shiny finishing of the jacket and how easily it holds its own in this look. You all know, I love me a good pair of wide leg trousers, and these ones from COS just do it ALL for me! This is a look that you could catch me wearing out and about to meetings in central,  press previews or going out for drinks with a group of friends. Scroll down to see a few more pics in this look.

New Chapter < New Book

@christianconfidential

Sigh…where do I even begin? The last few months have been a whirlwind of a time for me, to say the least. Filled with highs and lows, ups and downs and every single emotion in between. At the end of March 2019, I took my life into my own hands and made a move across the pond.

I recently shared a little bit about my personal struggle with depression over the last few years on my IGTV and without going to into too much details, I was very unhappy, uninspired and overall unfulfilled. These feelings really played a toll on my spirit and caused me to disconnect from people, things that I love and made me question everything. I knew that this was not something that I wanted to feel forever and I knew that it was my responsibility to get myself out of this rut.

Maybe it’s a career change? Maybe it’s a change of scenery? Maybe it’s more self discovery? Maybe it’s a lack of a love life? Maybe it’s all of the above?

I took a lot of time to really examine my thoughts, to find different ways to release negative energy (journaling, meditation, singing, exercising) and to just pay more attention to the signs that the universe was sending me.

I had created a plan to move to Paris last September and before making the final steps to put that plan into motions, it just didn’t feel right. I can’t really explain it but I had this gut feeling that just kept telling me that it wasn’t the right move.

After a spontaneous trip to London in November, something clicked. I kept asking the universe to send me a sign if this wasn’t the place that I should be and the complete opposite occurred. I got the same feeling that I had received before moving to Toronto (I’m originally from Ottawa, Canada).

I came back home and started to put a loose plan together and a few months later, I took the leap. I’m not committing to a specific amount of time to stay here, I’m just committing to doing what feels right for me. Life is crazy and so unpredictable and I just want to live more in the present and work on being the best person, that I can be. @christianconfidentialToronto, will always be home and I’ll be going back and forth for the next little while to work on a few projects that I have lined up. So no worries, you’ll still me around doing what I do best – having fun!

In regards to my blog and social content, I’m still here! Honestly, I feel like this change will be good for me, to help inspire me and push myself more creatively. I thought long and hard about it and there’s no way I could leave this industry. I’ve been in fashion, music and or entertainment in some capacity since I was 6 years old – it’s all I know! I love it and I truly do feel like it’s the avenue to help push my life’s purpose.

That being said, I do feel like it’s time to step it up and make a few changes to my content and where I’d like to take my brand. I really want to push more video content whether it be style guides/tips as well as touch on more personal topics. I’ve been doing a lot more work as a men’s fashion expert for television segments and I think that I’m leaning towards pursuing more opportunities of that nature.

Anyways, this is probably one of the longest post I’ve written in a very long time so we’ll just end it here.

This was the first look that I shot since I’ve been in London and I absolutely love it! It’s edgy, it’s street and it’s my total vibe at the moment.   I’ve been living in these Saint Laurent Paris Wyatt boots now that there’s no snow where I am. I think they just elevate any look with their sleek silhouette, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of them in my upcoming posts. The leather biker pants are from the HM x Moschino collaboration and they’re so fire! It’s my first time really wearing them out and I got so many compliments on them, it was crazy! Scroll down to see more images from this look and thank you guys for continuing to support me and my endeavours – it means so much more than you know!

Television

Fashion Friday for ET Canada

@christianconfidential

So, I’m sharing this post a little but I guess late is better than never right?!? To be honest, I wanted to wait to share this post because I wanted to shoot the look or something similar to it to give you guys a better perspective of my outfit. At the end of march, I shot my latest television segment for ET Canada’s Fashion Friday and it was such a good one! Myself, Jodi Lopez and Carlos Bustamante dished about the latest and greatest in celebrity fashion and gave our honest opinions (some more than others, aka me haha) about a ton of stars.

It’s crazy because I’m really enjoying this television stuff. It feels much more natural to me and being able to be myself and share my true thoughts and opinions is the ultimate cherry on top! I knew that I wanted to venture into television for a while now, and  I’ve dabbled a little into acting a little but  I didn’t truly love it. I felt like with acting I had to stay true to the character I was playing but being a host or a personality to me it’s just like sitting around with your friends and spilling the tea – so much more my vibe.

Fast forward to the look I shot the other week in London which drew inspiration from my ‘television look’. I opted to keep it pretty similar except let go of the hat and elevated the bottom half with faux leather pants.

I love this look, to me it’s very Miguel meets Lenny Kravitz (which I adore them both). This is a look that I’d likely wear to a festival, a night out in the summer or a fashion event in the city. Whether it’s the pants or the printed shirt or the whole look all together it’s bound to be an outfit that people comment on – which to me is a win in fashion!

Check out both versions below.

Winter Street Style

@christianconfidential It’s been a while since I’ve last given you guys a new street style post but today I am back  on the blog with one that’s practical, stylish, and gives back to a good cause all at the same time! If you’ve ever spent any time in Canada during winter, you know how cold our winters can get and honestly I don’t know how I would make it through them without my friends over at Canada Goose. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ve definitely seen the brand pop up in my content throughout the years. Whether the brand’s hosting a store opening party, a press preview or simply just interacting with their products on a continuous basis – I’m always blown away by the quality and effort that they put in to everything they do.

That being said, the newest CG addition to my collection might be a little more special (in my opinion) due to it’s involvement with a great cause. The PBI Expedition Parka (that I’m currently living in), is one of 14 items apart of a collaboration that Canada Goose and Polar Bears International (a non profit organization) have created to help support the conservation of Polar Bear habitats through research and education.

Now let’s get into this street style look – personally I’m in love with it! It’s simple, it’s chic and it’s super functional. I went up a size in the PBI Expedition Parka to give it more of an oversized look. I then paired it with a navy blue mock neck, some relaxed fit pants and my favourite pair of Wyatt Harness boots. This is an outfit that you could catch me in heading to meetings, media previews and definitely on February 27th, 2019 for Polar Bear Day!

For additional ways that you can get involved in Polar Bear Day please visit PBI’s official website here!

Outerwear Finds at Saks OFF 5TH

@christianconfidential

As the temperature begins to drop in the city, I’m starting to have to find creative ways to not only look stylish but to stay warm at the same time. Luckily for me, I’m a huge fan of layering, warm  fall staples and winter accessories. Recently, I put together this street style inspired look with the help of my friends over at Saks OFF 5TH that I think that you guys are really going to love!

When it comes to putting an outfit together, 9 out of 10 times I look for a statement piece that I want to build my look around. After discovering this mixed material jacket by Dsquared2 (at Saks OFF 5TH), I knew right away that it was going to be my focal point for the look. Since the jacket played with different materials and colour combinations, I wanted to find classic pieces that would compliment and elevate the overall vibe that I was going for. I opted for black dressy joggers, paired with  some sleek hi-top sneakers and a cashmere turtleneck ( aka one of my favourite f/w essentials).

This look really ticks off all of the boxes for me when it comes to my current style aesthetic. It’s edgy, it’s sharp, it’s athletic and keeps me warm! If you’re in the market for new outerwear and winter accessories my friends over at Saks OFF 5TH are having an outwear sale from November 7th to the 19th in store, where you can get 30% OFF! Whether you’re looking for a classic overcoat, an everyday jacket or something a little more edgy, like the one I got – they’ve definitely got you covered!

H&M Studio FW18 Collection

@christianconfidential Hi babes – So the first full week of September is coming to an end and it’s still really hot in Toronto but I shot some new content for the #HMStudio FW18 collection, that I wanted to share with you guys on the blog! I got to select a few pieces from the collection last week and trust me when I say it was a hard to not request everything! For this coming fall, I feel like a lot of menswear brands are embracing a collegiate trend and H&M has definitely illustrated that through their campaign!

I wanted to stay as true to their vibe but add a little more edge to it with the use of my own accessories (boots and hat). I really like the way both of these looks came together and I hope that you guys do too! I’ve been thinking a lot about visiting London (random, I know), which is what I think  inspired me to shoot the second look.

I’ll be travelling a few times throughout this month so you can expect some travel diaries coming your way!

Talk soon,

Christian

The Rest of Summer in H&M

@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

They say that time flies when you’re having fun and this summer has definitely proven that. Whether it was spending time on the beach in Miami, spending a week in Paris, having brunch with friends in Toronto or jetting off to Osheaga in Montreal with H&M this past weekend -it’s been a summer for the books and it’s not even over yet!

I told myself this season I was going to experiment more with my style and embrace a few new trends. When it comes to dressing, I tend to lean more on the street/athleisure style for my day-to-day but I do love dressing up for events and special occasions.

In regards to trends this season, there were a few that really resonated with me; 1. dad sneakers ( I love a chunky sneaker so I wasn’t surprised that I fell for this one), 2. wide leg trousers (ever since my trip to New Orleans, I’ve had a special place in my heart for them so I was excited to see them in stores for SS18) and 3. prints and patterned shirts (this has got to be the trend that I’ve embraced the most).

I don’t know what it is about prints and patterns for me this summer, but they work with everything! You can dress them up, dress them down, tuck them in, wear them out, they can be fitted, they can be loose, you can litterally make them your own!

For some of you guys, you might think it’s too much or feel that it makes you stand out a lot so I wanted to take the time to show you different ways that you can style them and feel comfortable with your look.

I took three different styles of prints/patterned shirts from H&M and styled them three ways! Trust me when I tell you, I had a lot of fun putting these outfits together and have worn each of them out and the feedback was great!

I’ve broken down each look below and shared the occasions that I wore each outfit and I want to challenge you guys to do something! We’ve got one month and a bit left of summer – let’s make the most of it style wise. Try something different with your look, don’t be afraid of colours, or patterns and put yourself out there a little – because I know I will!

Christian

@christianconfidentialThis outfit is a more elevated way to wear a printed shirt. Instead of a regular Oxford shirt I opted for one with stripes and tucked it in to a pair of white skinny denim. This is an outfit that I wore to a friends celebration brunch but I would also wear it out to watch a tennis match or even a business lunch. It’s clean, it’s stylish and it shows your guests that you know a thing or two about fashion.

This outfit is a more fun take on wearing prints/patterns. This is for those hot summer days or nights that you’re attending a festival, a concert or an outside gathering! It’s the perfect alternative to a tank or a sleeveless top. It’s a light material so it’s breathable, you can leave it buttoned up or unbuttoned and it looks like you’ve put more thought into your overall look!
@christianconfidentialPatterned Resort Shirt | Skinny Denim Shorts | Cotton Fabric Shoes | Imitation Suede Cap |
@christianconfidentialThis outfit is my look for a nice evening out in the summer! The floral prints make for a great conversation piece and tucking it in to a pair of fitted black denim, elevates the entire look. I would wear this look  to a nice dinner on a rooftop patio or to a nice bar for drinks with friends or even on a date. To me, this outfit is letting people know that you’re confident and that you’re in total control of your personal style.
