Every now and then I get the chance to collaborate with a brand that really encourages me to tap into my creative space and create something that’s really different. If you’re into menswear, you’re definitely familiar with the heritage brand Perry Ellis. I remember while growing up and going through my step dads closet and seeing the logo on so many classic staples. You guys know me, I love my edgy statement pieces, my casual cozy pieces and my classic staples.
Perry Ellis is known for its suiting, contemporary apparel, cutting edge athleisure wear (have you seen their 360 collection?!) and are also pretty invested in the fragrance department. Last month, they came out with their newest scent, Perry Ellis and it’s a solid contender. A scent is personal, it’s a representation of you, and for me, I always choose my scents wisely. Think about it, there’s two things that people will always remember you by, 1. the way you made them feel and 2. your scent. I attach people and memories to scents all the time, kind of how I attach experiences to my favourite songs (PartyNextDoor’s Break From Toronto, will always remind me of my first visit to Paris).
The new Perry Ellis scent is for the modern day guy that’s a forward thinker, fashion conscious with a taste for classic and heritage style. Notes from Italian bergamot, crushed lavender and infused verbena gives this scent a refreshing finish.
For this project, my team and I wanted to really bring out the values behind this fragrance in a special way. In this short spot that we created with the brand, you’ll see me in my most intimate state that I’ve been on camera to date. I shed a layer or two, and let myself be vulnerable for you guys to get a glimpse into what I aspire for, what I struggle with and what I’ve overcome throughout my journey this far. Believe it or not, one of the most important things that helps build my confidence day to day, is knowing that I’m wearing a fragrance that supports and reflects my ideas and vision.
New York Fashion Week… (sigh) where do I even begin? I told you guys that I was originally set to be in New York for a cool project that I was filming that coincided with Fashion Week (Women’s). I decided to extend my stay in the city to explore, shop and see a few more shows + presentations. I’ve only been to Fashion Week in New York once before which was a lot of fun but this time around the whole experience was kicked up to another level.
One thing that I’ve learned when it comes to traveling + work is that, it’s so important to have a great team with you and good friends (Shayna, Sean, Jay + Vanessa) – it really makes the experience so much better! From attending shows, to shooting street style, to presentations + appointments, late dinners to the after parties… there was never a dull moment.
As always, I had my camera with me + iPhone 7 (the camera changed my life, review coming shortly) documenting as much of my time away as I could. Keep scrolling down to see some of my favourite moments.
Recently, I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine about confidence. He was asking me for a few tips on how he could build his own and where I get mine from. After discussing it with him for a while, I really took in how significant of a role confidence plays in our lives. There are numerous ways to build confidence but for me, I’m the most confident when I feel and look my best. I teamed up with Philips on a cool project to showcase what a’ Day In My Life’ looks like and how having a Multigroom 5000 contributes to the confidence that I need to pursue my passions.
I’ve always lived my life with the optimism that everything can change in a moment – it’s literally been the driving factor that has kept me somewhat sane haha! When I’ve been in a bad place in my life, I’d remind myself that it’ll pass and when everything is going really well it also reminds to appreciate the moment. That being said, you never know what might happen, or who you’ll meet on any given day so it’s important to try and put your best self out there as consistently as possible.
You’ll rarely (and I mean rarely) catch me with a clean shaven face or a full blown beard, I’m the guy that likes scruff but not too much scruff (I’m picky, I know haha). It’s important to have a good shaver in your arsenal to clean up those random hairs and trim your beard when it’s getting too long (or your barber isn’t available) . That’s what I like about the Multigroom 5000, it provides you with good trimming level options, it has turbo power boost (cuts down shaving time) and makes you feel like you’re in total control.
A good chunk of my work involves being in front of the camera and interacting with people, so having a well groomed face is pretty important for me. It might sound trivial to some people but it’s one less thing that I have to worry about and one more thing that makes me feel better about myself.
We shot this lifestyle video over the course of two days to give you guys a glimpse into what a regular day can consist of for me. Check it out below and I hope that you guys like it!

If there’s anything that I love, it’s the release of a dope sneaker! As part of my collaboration series with Adidas Originals, the Adidas EQT Support ADV’s were a drop that I was really excited for. Taking inspiration from the past and revamping the look with a primeknit upper, these kicks are a total win. When it came to styling my outfit, I opted to keep it simple and have the sneakers be my statement piece. Clean, minimal, with a futuristic flair, you can’t go wrong with having these in your closet!
My buddy Sean from Tin Mantra Motion Pictures and I shot a little fashion video featuring some of my favourite pieces at the moment all styled with the EQT’s. Check it out below and let me know what you think! Ps. they’re also available in an all white & all black colourway that can be found on adidas.ca.
