Twenty-Something

@christianconfidential

So… It’s officially been about a week since my birthday and let’s just say that I’m still thinking about how much fun it was. Every year I usually throw a big dinner or have a party of some sort but this year I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something low-key with a small group of people and just kind of go with the flow.  A few of my friends (Shayna, Jay and Vanessa) and I have been talking about how much fun it would be if we all went to Miami together one day, which spawned the idea of this birthday trip. We overpacked our carry-ons with swimsuits, workout gear and party outfits and hopped on an early morning flight to meet our good friends from New York in Miami for an unforgettable couple of days.

@christianconfidential@christianconfidentialIt’s crazy what great company, a beach, some champagne and good music can do for the soul. From start to finish, there was never a dull moment. The highlight moment for me on this trip had to be my birthday dinner at Zuma. The food was amazing, the service was great and the conversations left me feeling inspired and grateful. We spoke about personal goals, life, what we’re thankful for and what we’re looking to accomplish within the next year. Everyone was honest and so supportive of one another and to me that’s the beauty of life and great relationships.

This was one of those trips that I’ll always look back on and cherish the memories that were created. The universe works in the most craziest of ways. A week before I left on this trip, I was fighting a lot of anxiety. I felt like no matter what I was doing, I wasn’t getting ahead in certain areas of my life. Fast forward to the end of this trip, I left with a total different perspective, a more positive outlook and feeling extremely blessed and grateful. I know that I have work to do in order to accomplish what I want to do in life and I think that this year will be all about change and advancement. It’s not going to be easy, I know that there will be uncomfortable moments but I’m ready to take the plunge and see what’s out there for me!

Sometimes… Colour Is The Answer

Christian Confidential | Christian ThompsonFor quite some time now, I’ve been really into the whole monochromatic look when it comes to my everyday style. Last week, I was looking through my closet and found this bold red polo from Lacoste that I felt like I just needed to wear – please tell me that I’m not the only one that has these moments? I took a page out of my preppy handbook and kept this look super clean, I even tucked in my polo… to me, that’s commitment! It’s fun to switch things up every now and then & to keep people guessing. P.S… It’s the first few days of Spring, I hope you guys are all taking advantage of the sun finally being out past 5pm! Continue Reading…

Borrowing From The Hipsters | Style Post

Unpredictable | Christian ConfidentialRecently I’ve been really interested in experimenting with different colour palettes and pieces that I wouldn’t necessarily gravitate towards. I think it’s really important to not only try new things when it comes to fashion but to get outside of your comfort zone and be a little creative. It’s spring so light colours are everywhere and even though I’m not a huge trend guy I’ve decided to try out the whole coloured denim craze. Since the mint green is something I’ve never tried before,I decided to pair it with a cream sweater and my new Sherbrooke Brogue 4’s (Lacoste) that I got from Town Shoes. I think the colour combo really works well together and totally gives off a cool hipster vibe, especially because of the detailing on my kicks. Clean, stylish with a vintage feel this look would be perfect for a casual dinner with friends or an evening stroll throughout the city. Sherbooke Brogues | Christian ConfidentialUnpredictable | Christian ConfidentialUnpredictable | Christian ConfidentialWhat I’m Wearing

For all the downsides of winter in Toronto there are also some serious pleasures that come with all of the snow – curling up fireside in a great sweater with a cup of hot chocolate is not a bad way to wait out even the worst weather.  I think that heavy knit sweaters will always be in style in Canada simply because our climate demands them – I tend to stock up as much as I can in November and then just live in them until Spring arrives, not the most creative I’ll admit but completely acceptable during the deep-freezes we’ve been going through.  This cream coloured sweater from H&M is both stylish & reasonably priced, proof that these essentials can keep you warm without burning holes in your pockets.  Definitely win-win.
