Every now and then I get the chance to collaborate with a brand that really encourages me to tap into my creative space and create something that’s really different. If you’re into menswear, you’re definitely familiar with the heritage brand Perry Ellis. I remember while growing up and going through my step dads closet and seeing the logo on so many classic staples. You guys know me, I love my edgy statement pieces, my casual cozy pieces and my classic staples.
Perry Ellis is known for its suiting, contemporary apparel, cutting edge athleisure wear (have you seen their 360 collection?!) and are also pretty invested in the fragrance department. Last month, they came out with their newest scent, Perry Ellis and it’s a solid contender. A scent is personal, it’s a representation of you, and for me, I always choose my scents wisely. Think about it, there’s two things that people will always remember you by, 1. the way you made them feel and 2. your scent. I attach people and memories to scents all the time, kind of how I attach experiences to my favourite songs (PartyNextDoor’s Break From Toronto, will always remind me of my first visit to Paris).
The new Perry Ellis scent is for the modern day guy that’s a forward thinker, fashion conscious with a taste for classic and heritage style. Notes from Italian bergamot, crushed lavender and infused verbena gives this scent a refreshing finish.
For this project, my team and I wanted to really bring out the values behind this fragrance in a special way. In this short spot that we created with the brand, you’ll see me in my most intimate state that I’ve been on camera to date. I shed a layer or two, and let myself be vulnerable for you guys to get a glimpse into what I aspire for, what I struggle with and what I’ve overcome throughout my journey this far. Believe it or not, one of the most important things that helps build my confidence day to day, is knowing that I’m wearing a fragrance that supports and reflects my ideas and vision.
The other day I went to grab lunch with my cousin at La Carnita and ended up throwing this look together. I had no intention of shooting it but the longer I wore it, the more I really liked it. It’s simple, athletic and super cozy but for me, I think that what I love about this look is the way that the light colours and tones play together. The different shades of blue and the ruggedness of the denim jacket really adds dynamic to the outfit – I hope you guys are into it too!
So, a little over a month ago I got the chance to work with one of my favourite brands at the moment, Off-White. If you’re into luxury street style, you’re definitely familiar with this brand. It’s spearheaded by Virgil Abloh, who I’ve had the chance of meeting on a few occasions and has developed a cult following by celebrities and consumers alike. With the success of the brand, Off-White has opened their Canadian flagship store in Yorkville, right here in Toronto! That being said, I had the opportunity to style + model a few of my favourite pieces from the fw17 collection for Off-White Toronto. Over the season, be sure to check out the brands Instagram page (@OFF__WHITE__TORONTO) for some style inspiration from yours truly! I hope that you guys like the looks as I had a blast putting them together!
So, I don’t want to jinx it but I think that I’m finally getting back into my creative swing again! This last year, I’ve gone through so many ups and downs in various aspects of my life that in all honesty left me unmotivated to do almost anything. Hence, why I haven’t been as consistent in creating content as I have in the past. I’m learning more and more that the answer to getting out of my feelings for me is to not put too much pressure on myself and to just fight through it. A little advice that a friend gave me that I’d like to share with you guys is; to not let what’s happening in your life right now distract you from the bigger picture.. – If you keep that in mind, it’ll make the tough times a lot easier! I felt like I needed to share a little about this with you guys just because I would never want you guys to think that I don’t take this platform seriously. Some of you guys have been on this journey with me from the jump and I appreciate it so much!
Anyways, that’s enough with all the feelings for today and now onto this look! It’s cool, it’s cozy, it’s me… on the weekend. You can catch me in something like this on a Saturday, heading to a casual brunch, going shopping or hanging out with friends. I love the athletic and minimal aesthetic to it. It’s doing something for me but not too much! I’m into it, I hope y’all are too!
Ps. I’m going to give you a warning to expect these Alexander Wang x Adidas Originals collaboration sneakers to show up a lot, I’m still obsessed with them and they just continue to stay in heavy rotation!
Hi guys – I hope that life has been treating you really well! Life for me (as always) has kind of been a whirlwind of ups and downs. Man, trying to figure out the next steps for your life can become so time consuming, it’s like can someone just give me the answers and I’ll make it all happen haha. In all honesty though, I’ve been working really hard on figuring out exactly what makes me happy and what are the next steps that I need to take to propel my personal life and career to the next level. I just want to live my best life in my zone of excellence moving forward.
That’s enough about my personal life right now, let’s talk about this look! Recently, I was asked to participate in a campaign for Yorkville Village (a small but cute community close to downtown Toronto). Although I don’t ‘live’ in Yorkville, it’s basically become my second home. My gym is located there (Catalyst), some of my favourite restaurants are in the area and my friends own one of the coolest boutiques there aka CNTRBND. This look is casual, light and has a rebel flair to it. You could easily catch me wearing something like this on a regular day in the area. I hope you guys like it!
First off, are you guys as into this parka as much as I am?!?! Right before heading to New York for Men’s Fashion Week, I stopped by the COS showroom for some inspiration and I noticed this jacket – I knew that I had to have it! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it but I knew that it was such an iconic piece that I would make it work. I wanted to keep this look super casual and athletic, so I paired this oversized parka with a classic tank, some white joggers and my new Cortezsneakers (you’ll see me wearing these a lot).
This look won’t be for everyone but if you’re confident and have some height on ya (I’m 6’0 feet), I’d definitely recommend trying to rock something like this. It’s so bad ass and functional at the same time!
Hi guys, I’m back on the blog today with a new style post just in time for the weekend. This look is totally my vibe right now, it’s clean, it’s casual and has a little dapper twist to it. I’m usually not the person to mix collared shirts with athletic apparel but for this outfit, it just works for me. I paired my oversized collared shirt with a pair of aqua blue track pants and my new ultra boost sneakers to complete the look. This is that fun outfit that you can wear confidently to brunch, to run errands or to just hang out on a patio with friends sipping rosé.
Ps. Rosé has definitely become my obsession this summer, that and the new album CTRL by SZA!!!
Hey homies, did you miss me? I’m back on the blog today with some new style content that I think you guys are going to really like. If you’ve been following me on social media for a while, you’ve probably noticed a shift in my content over the last 6 months. For so long, I’ve been creating content that followed a very minimal, clean and somewhat restrictive aesthetic. I loved it and I think that you guys did too but in order to keep growing creatively, it’s always best to change things up. Since earlier this year, I’ve been experimenting with more colours, different shoot locations (no more all white, grey and black backgrounds) and different ways of editing my pictures. I’m really liking the direction that my content has been going in and I’ve really started to embrace the challenge.
This specific style post really embodies the new wave that I’ve been on in so many ways. I love the choice of the bold colour joggers (℅ Puma), the edgy shoot location and the use of shadows and lighting.
In regards to this look, I would describe it as athleisure meets street. I love how all of the pieces flow together and the colours tie into each another. Depending on how hot it is, you could catch me downtown doing a million things in this look. It’s comfortable, it’s stylish and makes a bold statement all at the same time!
So it’s been a while since I’ve last posted on the blog and I feel like I owe you guys an explanation. The last couple of months have been very interesting to say the least and I needed some time to really reflect on what I’ve been feeling and what’s going to be my next move. I don’t necessarily have the answer as of yet but I feel like I’m in a better place to pick up where I left off. I’ll go into further details about this in another blog post but I just wanted to let you guys know that I didn’t forget about you and that I’m working on a few things personally and professionally that I’ll be sharing with you guys soon!
Something that I’m excited about, is a feature that I shot with Urban Outfitters earlier this week that will be coming out in July on their social channels and website! This is a look that I styled for them that I’m totally feeling right now. I’d like to think that this look is a mash up of retro + island vibes. It’s a dope look that I would wear on a cooler (weather wise) summer day with friends either checking out Kensington Market or heading to a backyard party.
