Street Style

Lace-Effect

@christianconfidential So, I really made the most of my time while in New York and even got a chance to shoot some street style content for the blog. This is a look that I put together, incorporating a trend that came up a lot during Men’s Week (New York, London, Milan & Paris) – lace shirts and blazers. The moment that I saw ASAP Rocky sporting this trend, I was on the hunt for the perfect rendition to style my own way. I decided to dress up the trend this time with some wide-leg trousers, statement sunglasses and my signature harness boots.

I’m really happy with the way this look turned out, it’s definitely not going to be for everyone but for the fashion forward thinking guy, I’d suggest giving it a shot!

New York Photo Diary

@christianconfidentialIf you’ve been a long time reader of my blog, then you know to expect a photo diary (almost), every time that I travel. I love creating these type of posts because, it allows me to relive my travels whenever I want and also encourages me to seek beautiful moments wherever I am.

Sigh, where do I even begin.. I love New York and this trip really made me realize how much I’ve missed it! It’s honestly one of those cities that awakens me no matter what season, reason for visiting or the length of time I’m there. As I mentioned in my previous post, I was visiting New York for World Pride with Mastercard, which was such a cool experience on its own.  Even though this was a work trip, I did have some free time to explore the city, eat some good food and do a little bit of partying!

As always, I snapped a few photos along the way and have linked some of my favourite places I visited throughout this trip.

A lot of changes have been happening (AGAIN  haha) in my life and I’ll be back to share them with you shortly! Honestly, 2019 has been the year of change for me and although it hasn’t always been pretty, I finally feel like something amazing is on the horizon for me. If any of you guys are dealing with uncertainty or having a difficult time adjusting to change, just know that it’s only temporary and if you hold on a little longer you’ll get through it and be better for it!

Make It Summer But In Black

@christianconfidential

Hey guys,  guess who’s back with another look! Honestly it feels good to be shooting content again, especially with this amazing weather we’ve been having this week in London! My friend Natasha and I went out for afternoon drinks on a cute terrace in South Kensington, called April’s Cafe, and this was the look I opted for. I wanted something that embraced summer but was still super chic. I went for an all-black look (screams summer, I know) but switched it up by wearing a shirt with a floral/plant print. To me, this was a great way to add a little more fun to my look, rather than playing it safe with a plain black tee or shirt.

I love the way this outfit came together, it’s easy, it’s classy and just totally my vibe at the moment. Check out  a few more pics below!

New Chapter < New Book

@christianconfidential

Sigh…where do I even begin? The last few months have been a whirlwind of a time for me, to say the least. Filled with highs and lows, ups and downs and every single emotion in between. At the end of March 2019, I took my life into my own hands and made a move across the pond.

I recently shared a little bit about my personal struggle with depression over the last few years on my IGTV and without going to into too much details, I was very unhappy, uninspired and overall unfulfilled. These feelings really played a toll on my spirit and caused me to disconnect from people, things that I love and made me question everything. I knew that this was not something that I wanted to feel forever and I knew that it was my responsibility to get myself out of this rut.

Maybe it’s a career change? Maybe it’s a change of scenery? Maybe it’s more self discovery? Maybe it’s a lack of a love life? Maybe it’s all of the above?

I took a lot of time to really examine my thoughts, to find different ways to release negative energy (journaling, meditation, singing, exercising) and to just pay more attention to the signs that the universe was sending me.

I had created a plan to move to Paris last September and before making the final steps to put that plan into motions, it just didn’t feel right. I can’t really explain it but I had this gut feeling that just kept telling me that it wasn’t the right move.

After a spontaneous trip to London in November, something clicked. I kept asking the universe to send me a sign if this wasn’t the place that I should be and the complete opposite occurred. I got the same feeling that I had received before moving to Toronto (I’m originally from Ottawa, Canada).

I came back home and started to put a loose plan together and a few months later, I took the leap. I’m not committing to a specific amount of time to stay here, I’m just committing to doing what feels right for me. Life is crazy and so unpredictable and I just want to live more in the present and work on being the best person, that I can be. @christianconfidentialToronto, will always be home and I’ll be going back and forth for the next little while to work on a few projects that I have lined up. So no worries, you’ll still me around doing what I do best – having fun!

In regards to my blog and social content, I’m still here! Honestly, I feel like this change will be good for me, to help inspire me and push myself more creatively. I thought long and hard about it and there’s no way I could leave this industry. I’ve been in fashion, music and or entertainment in some capacity since I was 6 years old – it’s all I know! I love it and I truly do feel like it’s the avenue to help push my life’s purpose.

That being said, I do feel like it’s time to step it up and make a few changes to my content and where I’d like to take my brand. I really want to push more video content whether it be style guides/tips as well as touch on more personal topics. I’ve been doing a lot more work as a men’s fashion expert for television segments and I think that I’m leaning towards pursuing more opportunities of that nature.

Anyways, this is probably one of the longest post I’ve written in a very long time so we’ll just end it here.

This was the first look that I shot since I’ve been in London and I absolutely love it! It’s edgy, it’s street and it’s my total vibe at the moment.   I’ve been living in these Saint Laurent Paris Wyatt boots now that there’s no snow where I am. I think they just elevate any look with their sleek silhouette, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of them in my upcoming posts. The leather biker pants are from the HM x Moschino collaboration and they’re so fire! It’s my first time really wearing them out and I got so many compliments on them, it was crazy! Scroll down to see more images from this look and thank you guys for continuing to support me and my endeavours – it means so much more than you know!

Television

Fashion Friday for ET Canada

@christianconfidential

So, I’m sharing this post a little but I guess late is better than never right?!? To be honest, I wanted to wait to share this post because I wanted to shoot the look or something similar to it to give you guys a better perspective of my outfit. At the end of march, I shot my latest television segment for ET Canada’s Fashion Friday and it was such a good one! Myself, Jodi Lopez and Carlos Bustamante dished about the latest and greatest in celebrity fashion and gave our honest opinions (some more than others, aka me haha) about a ton of stars.

It’s crazy because I’m really enjoying this television stuff. It feels much more natural to me and being able to be myself and share my true thoughts and opinions is the ultimate cherry on top! I knew that I wanted to venture into television for a while now, and  I’ve dabbled a little into acting a little but  I didn’t truly love it. I felt like with acting I had to stay true to the character I was playing but being a host or a personality to me it’s just like sitting around with your friends and spilling the tea – so much more my vibe.

Fast forward to the look I shot the other week in London which drew inspiration from my ‘television look’. I opted to keep it pretty similar except let go of the hat and elevated the bottom half with faux leather pants.

I love this look, to me it’s very Miguel meets Lenny Kravitz (which I adore them both). This is a look that I’d likely wear to a festival, a night out in the summer or a fashion event in the city. Whether it’s the pants or the printed shirt or the whole look all together it’s bound to be an outfit that people comment on – which to me is a win in fashion!

Check out both versions below.

Winter Street Style

@christianconfidential It’s been a while since I’ve last given you guys a new street style post but today I am back  on the blog with one that’s practical, stylish, and gives back to a good cause all at the same time! If you’ve ever spent any time in Canada during winter, you know how cold our winters can get and honestly I don’t know how I would make it through them without my friends over at Canada Goose. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ve definitely seen the brand pop up in my content throughout the years. Whether the brand’s hosting a store opening party, a press preview or simply just interacting with their products on a continuous basis – I’m always blown away by the quality and effort that they put in to everything they do.

That being said, the newest CG addition to my collection might be a little more special (in my opinion) due to it’s involvement with a great cause. The PBI Expedition Parka (that I’m currently living in), is one of 14 items apart of a collaboration that Canada Goose and Polar Bears International (a non profit organization) have created to help support the conservation of Polar Bear habitats through research and education.

Now let’s get into this street style look – personally I’m in love with it! It’s simple, it’s chic and it’s super functional. I went up a size in the PBI Expedition Parka to give it more of an oversized look. I then paired it with a navy blue mock neck, some relaxed fit pants and my favourite pair of Wyatt Harness boots. This is an outfit that you could catch me in heading to meetings, media previews and definitely on February 27th, 2019 for Polar Bear Day!

For additional ways that you can get involved in Polar Bear Day please visit PBI’s official website here!

The Perfect Stay: The Four Seasons

@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

Can you guys believe that it’s almost December 1st? Like where has the time gone! Over the last two months or so, I’d say that I’ve been busier than usual, which is definitely a good thing. With traveling, work and my personal life, I was definitely starting to feel a bit drained. Knowing that the upcoming month isn’t going to slow down I decided to have a short staycation  at one of my favourite hotels in the city, The Four Seasons.

I stayed in one of the hotels luxury suites and brought my younger cousin along to join in on the r&r. We went to the gym, ordered room service, visited a local lounge  and called it a night quite early (I had a shoot the next day with Perry Ellis).

This staycation was exactly what I needed. There’s nothing more relaxing than forgetting about your responsibilities for a day and just listening to what your body and mind needs every now and then.

As always, I took a few snaps for you guys to scroll through!

Christian Confidential’s Gift Guide For Men | Holiday Shopping Made Easy

Christian Confidential's Gift Guide For Men | Holiday Shopping Made Easy

For many of us, the holiday season can be one of the most hectic times of the year. With all of the decorating, holiday parties, birthdays and work deadlines, you really don’t have that much time left to do all of your holiday shopping. I’ve decided to try and make your shopping task a little easier (at least when it comes to the special men in your life) by putting together what I consider a pretty dope gift guide!Christian Confidential's Gift Guide For Men | Holiday Shopping Made Easy

1. Nike Air Max 90 Ice – Sneaker Boot $160.00

A great alternative to the standard winter boot that some guys unfortunately still wear. The Air Max 90 sneaker boot is perfect for the young guy living downtown that still wants the style and comfort of his favourite sneaker while being able to stay warm and dry at the same time. They also have great traction and come in four different colorways for you to choose from.

2. Tiffany Somerset Ring $345.00

If he’s a guy that’s into jewellery, you can’t go wrong with this sterling silver ring from Tiffany’s Somerset collection. A great alternative to the classic mens ring that will instantly grab the attention of others making it a conversation piece.Christian Confidential's Gift Guide For Men | Holiday Shopping Made Easy

3. Givenchy Rottweiler Iphone 5(s) Hardcover Case $102.00

If he’s into making a statement with his iphone accessories, he will love the Rottweiler print case from Givenchy. This is a great accessory for the fashion forward guy that likes to keep it simple but stand out at the same time.

4. Rimowa Classic Flight Cabin Trolley IATA $769.00

This item on the gift guide is for the man in your life that’s always on the go. Whether it be for business or pleasure the Classic Flight Cabin Trolley from Rimowa is the perfect piece of luggage for short trips. Beautiful, reputable and built to last – this is a great start to traveling in style.Christian Confidential's Gift Guide For Men | Holiday Shopping Made Easy

5. Noble Leather – Yves Saint Laurent $230.00

Another one of my favourite scents from Yves Saint Laurent is, Noble Leather. Sometimes difficult to find and at a slightly higher price point than your standard cologne. If you’re looking for a scent that’s masculine but not overbearing and will set you apart from the crowd this is a pretty safe bet.

6. Talbot Shearling Leather Coat – All Saints $1448.00

It wouldn’t feel right completing a gift guide without including a leather jacket. This Shearling black leather jacket from All Saints is something worth drooling over. It’s edgy, it will keep you warm and priced pretty reasonably for the quality and material. It’s definitely an item worth looking at for the fashion risk taker on your shopping list.

7. Veuve Clicquot – Champagne $68.00

I see suggestion number 7 as the ‘safe’ yet ‘special’ gift to give not only over the holidays, but anytime of the year. Even if he’s not the biggest champagne enthusiast there will always be an occasion worth celebrating that will only seem complete with a bottle of Veuve.

8. Raf Simons High Top Sneakers $659.00

If he’s a sneakerhead he would love to find these bad boys underneath the tree. Black high top leather sneakers with velcro straps give these kicks a little edge over the competition. Rock these with a pair of joggers and an oversized sweatshirt and you’ve got yourself a dope look.

I hope that this list  provided you with a few cool gift ideas to help check off some of the important men in your life!

Xo,

Christian
