Surprisingly, dressing up is one of my least favourite things to do. I’ve never been one of those ‘alls fair in the name of fashion’ types and generally dress for comfort more than flare. That said, there are many occasions where dress-clothes are a must!

I might not be able to get away from the indigo-jeans, but in this outfit I’ve paired them with a double-breasted vest & blazer. In it I feel fashionable, flexible & fun. The detailing on the blazer makes a statement without defining the look. It’s a subtle style that suits the season with colours to match.

The vest is definitely a highlight & the key to this outfit’s versatility. Take it from office to afterwork effortlessly.

The Canadian Tuxedo | Street Style

As I’ve mentioned before and definitely will again, denim is my go-to fall wardrobe saviour. Rich and warm it’s the foundation of a lot my looks this season. Today I thought I’d get a little bit more playful and embrace the ‘Canadian Tuxedo’ – the all-jean look that has come a long way from it’s blue-collar beginnings. Though frequently seen on the more ‘playful’ red carpets and at VIP after-parties, this look maintains its cool factor without making you seem unapproachable. If rocked right it’s a memorable way to change up how you wear your favourite pair of jeans.

The Downtown Runner | Street Style

There are only a few good weeks left for road running in Toronto and I’m doing everything I can to take advantage of them! To me, there’s no better way to set your day in the right direction than a good outdoor run – the fall air is brisk & the colors are the perfect backdrop.

Unlike a climate controlled gym, your street running wardrobe definitely changes with the seasons! Today’s look is warm, comfortable and (obviously) stylish. My go-to New Balance windbreaker keeps the chill out of my bones and, like all workout gear, is a great way to mix in some ultra-energetic colour into your closet. I’m in love with my Nike tights – not only are they super comfy & warm but they also show off some of my best assets #justbeinghonest ;). A compressed t-shirt keeps your body breathing through the sweat – a definite essential for any athlete. I’m a die-hard Nike fan, but these new Minimus runners (also from New Balance) have quickly caught my attention.

Shoes are obviously the most important part of the puzzle, not only is the right fit key to top performance but also very important in limiting fatigue and preventing injury. These NB’s have a lower base – perfect for circuit training – but which definitely took some getting used to. Pick up a pair, break them in – you won’t be disappointed!

Boy In Leather | Street Style

Fall is such an amazing season to experience the best of Toronto – all of the indulgent & cozy classics that bring out the Canadian in all of us. This is true for fashion as much as anything else! The unpredictability of the weather makes layering a must – especially if you’re trying to carry an outfit from day to night. With this look I layered a basic grey scoop neck t-shirt with one of my favourite cool-weather pieces, a leather vest by Canadian designer Ken Chow. Tied around my waist is my ‘boyfriend’ shirt, a well-loved plaid number from Club Monaco, rocked with my favourite All Saints denim, a feathered fedora & a pair of shades courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana.

The luxe feel of leather is as exciting as it is timeless: a great leather vest is the perfect piece to add to your wardrobe this fall and have in rotation season after season. Personally, I love the added edge it gives my outfits – it’s such an added confidence boost. Let’s just say that it brings out the bad boy in me so to speak… 😉
