Nail Art

Elevated Mani

So, y’all know I’m not new to the whole mani/pedi game. Just like clothes, I feel like nails tell a lot about you, whether you want them to or not.

Instead of opting for my classic vibe, I decided to try something new and add some nail art to the mix and…. I’m in love!

Being the overthinking Gemini that I am (sigh), deciding on the designs and finger placements took a lot of time. I’m very indecisive and the more options I have the worse I get, and I’m not kidding, lol.

Check out the different designs I went for below and let me know what you think. If you know me, you know that this is v me. From the eye roll emoji to the $ sign to the astrology mention – it screams Christian Thompson in the classiest way :).

Birthday Love

All I can say is that I have some of the best friends ever! Wow, I’m still in awe of the entire weekend from beginning to end.

This year hasn’t been easy for anyone and in all honesty, I wasn’t going to do anything for my birthday. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful for another trip around the sun but with the state of the world in regards to the Black Lives Matter and the pandemic, I was okay with sitting this one out.

The night before my birthday, I had plans to have dinner with one of my friends at his house. We were just going to order take out and have champagne, you know the usual, lol.

I got there and his place was decorated and I thought aww cute, only to see 4 of my friends pop out from the bedroom. It was THE cutest thing I have ever seen, I was speechless! I had no clue that anything was happening and usually I know everything… it was such a beautiful surprise.

Fast forward to cake, 1942 shots, lots of Veuve, Kasamoto and so many amazing moments!

The day of my birthday, the celebration continued with more love! What was supposed to be a casual hang out, turned into a super cute night with two of my loves.

More desserts, more champagne and amazing convos made it the perfect day.

The next evening, I spent it with one of my closest childhood friends. She did a little set up on her balcony and again more champagne + treats and laughs!

This whole weekend reminded me of how blessed I truly am, to have all of these beautiful people in my life. Thank you so much, my heart is full and it means so much to me. ūüôā

Don’t Keep Me Waiting

@christianconfidential Happy February, happy new year, happy 2020! I’m back on the blog today with an impromptu style post. ¬†I’ve been fairly MIA for the month of January on all of my channels. I really needed a minute to get things in order and put in some behind-the-scenes work ¬†on a few things that you’ll start seeing shortly!

Anyways, let’s get into this look, sigh…it’s such a vibe. I got this Houndstooth-patterned Coat from H&M¬†two weeks ago and I’m in love with it! I’ve been dressing it down a lot ¬†but today I decided to dress it up and really test its versatility. ¬†I wore this look to a fashion related meeting followed by an early dinner and I felt comfortable in both settings.

I hope you guys like it!

You Know The Vibes

@christianconfidential Look who decided to come back on the blog before the end of 2019! Honestly, I am more than ready to kick off the new year. 2019 was a very tumultuous year for me. A lot of ups, a lot of downs, and A LOT of time spent figuring out what I would like to do next!

That being said, I’m happy to say that in the new year I’ll be working on a new series that’ll be incorporating ¬†a lot more of my personality, other people and highlighting my style work!

I promise that  this will be something that you guys are going to love.  My team and I are in the process of ironing everything out and the more we flesh out the details the more excited I am for you guys to see it!

Enough about that though, let’s get into this look! When I say that I am in love with this coat, I really mean that I am in LOVE with this coat. It’s my latest item from COS and I’ve been wearing it non stop.

It’s the perfect coat to throw over a casual outfit that just elevates the entire look. This is a vibe that I’d wear to run errands, attend Sunday brunch or go on a solo movie date. I hope you like it!

A Powder Blue Moment

@christianconfidential Hey guys, I hope that you’re all doing well – I still cannot believe that it’s September already! It feels like just yesterday I decided to move back to Toronto from London – sigh, time is moving so quickly! Anyways enough of wondering where the time is going, let’s get right ¬†into this look.

¬†I’ve actually had this powder blue double breasted blazer from ASOS ¬†in my closet since the beginning of the summer, and I was waiting for the right moment to wear/shoot it. I don’t know what made it the right moment this week, but it was, and I’m in LOVE with the outcome! I wanted this piece to be the statement of the entire outfit so I kept everything else very sleek and minimal. Since it’s oversized, I could’ve went with a skinny pant but I decided to add volume to the look by pairing it with some wide leg trousers. Which in my opinion, ¬†really accentuates the overall ¬†silhouette of the look.

This is one of those outfits that’s very versatile and can be worn to a ¬†business meeting, a fancy lunch at L’Avenue¬†(I have Paris on my mind, sigh) or to an early evening event ¬†(I wore this to the first day of Toronto Fashion Week). I hope that you guys are into ¬†it!

Holiday Party Vibes

@christianconfidentialCan you believe that we’re so close to the end of the year? Honestly, I’m so ready for 2018 to be over, and to welcome a new year…sigh this year has been a lot! I’ll get into all of that in another post but for now let’s discuss this holiday party look, that I put together! The thing that I love about the holiday season and putting outfits together is that you can be as loud and as extra as you’d like. I don’t know if it’s because everyone is in a joyful mood but whatever the reason is – I’m all for it!

By now, I’m sure that you guys know that I love me a good floral print shirt, and I couldn’t resist this one. I decided to pair it with some of velvet pants that have a shiny tint to them and continued playing with textures by completing the look with suede Chelsea boots. I love this look, it’s festive, it’s sexy, it’s the perfect outfit for a chic holiday party without doing the most – in my opinion!

London

Followed My Heart To London

@christianconfidential

¬†So…where do I begin? Honestly, I’ve never had an interest in visiting London. Over the last 4 years, I’ve been to Paris at least twice a year and even stayed there for 3 months at one point and I never felt the urge to take the train over to visit London. Truthfully, I didn’t know much about the city but this year it seemed like the universe kept subtly pointing me towards London. Whether it was recommendations from friends, collaboration opportunities from UK based brands or other little signs, it’s like the city was calling my name.

So, like the Gemini that I am, I packed a suitcase and headed to London for a week. Not knowing what to expect or if I’d like it, I went there with no expectations and an open mind. I stayed in Shoreditch (east end, close to central) and made my way to the many boroughs in the city (Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Soho, Mayfair).

Honestly, I fell in love with the city and wished I could’ve extended my trip but I had a flight booked for a press trip in New York the day of my scheduled return. The best way that I can describe London is, it’s a mash up of New York meets Paris. It’s multicultural, it’s modern, it’s historic, it’s fast pace, it’s clean, it has everything you could ask for (except for shorter travel times haha).

I had a few work things that I had to get done while I was there but other than that, I spent my time exploring the city and getting a real vibe of the place. I have a few friends that live in the city and they made sure to point me in the right direction of places to go and even tagged along to some of them (Shoreditch House, The Curtain, Sketch, Harrods, Barry’s Bootcamp, White City House, LPM, Sexy Fish).

This trip was a little different for me, I really tried to stay in the moment as much as I could and therefore didn’t take too many photos or create much content. That being said, Scroll down below to take a look at some of the moments that I did capture and hopefully you can get a bit of a vibe of my stay.

I’ll be back a lot sooner than expected but I’ll save more of those details for a later post.

I got a chance to sit down with the MR. PORTER team while being in London. If you’re into fashion then you know how big of a deal MR. PORTER is sigh..!¬†
@christianconfidential@christianconfidential@christianconfidential@christianconfidential@christianconfidentialWe met almost 5 years ago in Paris and have stayed in each others lives since then. Henri now lives in London and took me around to some of this favourite spots in the city. Such a beautiful soul, I’m so thankful for him.

Miami

Celebrations In Miami

@christianconfidentialHello friends, did you miss me?! ¬†I really have to get better at these frequent updates, it’s nuts and not cool.. sigh.

On another note, I was in Miami earlier this week celebrating one of my best friends birthdays and I’ve got a little travel diary for you guys. I really enjoy taking lifestyle pictures and just capturing the moments when they’re happening and although this trip was short there were plenty of memories created!

Anytime Zineb, Kenza and I are together, it’s always full of inside jokes and fun. I’ve known them both for about 10 years now, so when Zineb said she wanted to celebrate her birthday in Miami, I was all the way in! Most of the trip we spent our time eating great food ( Prime Italian, Carpaccio, La Petite Maison), drinking champagne + wine, laying out by the plunge pool (The Edition) ¬†and doing some retail therapy ( Bal Harbour).

Miami literally feels like a second home to me now but I swear every time I visit, I discover ¬†somewhere new. This time it was the restaurant La Petite Maison.. OMG, the food was so good! Zineb and her fianc√© Daniel (aka my tequila shot brother) always gush about this restaurant in Dubai and insisted that we go to their Miami location for her birthday dinner. ¬†If you’re into French cuisine and love a great cocktail, the next time you’re in Miami, you have to try it!

If you’re following me on Instagram (@christianconfidential) and watched my stories, you know that I was obsessing over a specific pair of¬†Balenciaga¬†Speed Trainers. I’ve actually wanted a pair for a while now and every time I went to purchase them they never had my size in the colour way that I wanted. Well, on our second trip to Bal Harbour (yes, second haha), I decided to ask about their latest drop of the Speed Trainers ¬†and not only did they have my size, once I tried them on I knew I had to get them (sigh…). I can’t wait to show you guys how I style them!

That being said, scroll on down and check out these images that I captured on the trip. I also promise that I’ll be back sooner than later with some more style content for you guys.

xoxo

The Rest of Summer in H&M

@christianconfidential@christianconfidential

They say that time flies when you’re having fun and this summer has definitely proven that. Whether it was spending time on the beach in Miami, spending a week in Paris, having brunch with friends in Toronto or jetting off to Osheaga in Montreal with H&M this past weekend -it’s been a summer for the books and it’s not even over yet!

I told myself this season I was going to experiment more with my style and embrace a few new trends. When it comes to dressing, I tend to lean more on the street/athleisure style for my day-to-day but I do love dressing up for events and special occasions.

In regards to trends this season, there were a few that really resonated with me; 1. dad sneakers ( I love a chunky sneaker so I wasn’t surprised that I fell for this one), 2. wide leg trousers (ever since my trip to New Orleans, I’ve had a special place in my heart for them so I was excited to see them in stores for SS18) and 3. prints and patterned shirts (this has got to be the trend that I’ve embraced the most).

I don’t know what it is about prints and patterns for me this summer, but they work with everything! You can dress them up, dress them down, tuck them in, wear them out, they can be fitted, they can be loose, you can litterally make them your own!

For some of you guys, you might think it’s too much or feel that it makes you stand out a lot so I wanted to take the time to show you different ways that you can style them and feel comfortable with your look.

I took three different styles of prints/patterned shirts from H&M and styled them three ways! Trust me when I tell you, I had a lot of fun putting these outfits together and have worn each of them out and the feedback was great!

I’ve broken down each look below and shared the occasions that I wore each outfit and I want to challenge you guys to do something! We’ve got one month and a bit left of summer – let’s make the most of it style wise. Try something different with your look, don’t be afraid of colours, or patterns and put yourself out there a little – because I know I will!

@christianconfidentialThis outfit is a more elevated way to wear a printed shirt. Instead of a regular Oxford shirt I opted for one with stripes and tucked it in to a pair of white skinny denim. This is an outfit that I wore to a friends celebration brunch but I would also wear it out to watch a tennis match or even a business lunch. It’s clean, it’s stylish and it shows your guests that you know a thing or two about fashion.

This outfit is a more fun take on wearing prints/patterns. This is for those hot summer days or nights that you’re attending a festival, a concert or an outside gathering! It’s the perfect alternative to a tank or a sleeveless top. It’s a light material so it’s breathable, you can leave it buttoned up or unbuttoned and it looks like you’ve put more thought into your overall look!

@christianconfidentialThis outfit is my look for a nice evening out in the summer! The floral prints make for a great conversation piece and tucking it in to a pair of fitted black denim, elevates the entire look. I would wear this look ¬†to a nice dinner on a rooftop patio or to a nice bar for drinks with friends or even on a date. To me, this outfit is letting people know that you’re confident and that you’re in total control of your personal style.
