Studio Fits

BB’s – Another style post in less than a week, who do I think I am?! I wore this look on Thursday to attend my friend Fefe’s studio session in the city and thought it was such a vibe that I had to shoot it. It’s the simplicity of the fit that I love mixed in with the edgy vibes that the leather pieces (jacket + boots) lend.

I’m happy to see that the oversize trend is being carried over into 2023 and I’m fully embracing it. I usually opt for something more fitting on top if I’m wearing baggy pants but I decided to pair these pants with my oversized Ader Error tee and I think it paired really well.

I wore this to the studio but I could see myself wearing this to a casual dinner, or running errands or even to a meeting.

Street Style

Hi bb’s -I’m jumping on the blog today to share my first street style look of 2023! I shot this look the other day before my girlfriend and I went out for brunch. I know, I know, a little extra for brunch but hello – it’s me (lol)! It’s freezing in Toronto right now so this Faux Fur Teddy Bear jacket from H&M’s Innovation Metaverse collection came in at the perfect time. I love the vibe that faux fur creates, it automatically elevates any look and this look was no exception. I paired the coat with a black long sleeve t-shirt, satin pants (also from the collection) and my Rick Owens DrkShdw Abstract Beatle boots.

This look is definitely not for everybody but it’s fulfilling my Pop Rock fantasy (think Lenny Kravitz) and I brought that vibe with me throughout the day, including these pics!

New York

New York Through My iPhone

So… New York is always a good idea, even during the holidays! I just came back from spending a bit over a week in New York and I must say that it was the perfect plot twist to bring 2022 to a close. I haven’t been back to New York since the pandemic and trust me, it’s been long overdue. I was supposed to be there for Fashion Week in September and at the last minute I had to cancel, so this time around when the opportunity presented itself, I said yes without hesitation.

I stayed in East Village, and made my way around the city to all of my favourite pockets (Midtown, Soho, Meatpacking District). There’s something about New York that just brings you out of your shell and let’s you embrace new things – which I absolutely love! On my first night in the city, I trekked to Madison Square Garden (solo) to watch the Raptors play against the New York Knicks. I’ve been to basketball games before but never solo and never in New York. It was such a cool experience and we won, lol.

I ate a lot of good food (L’Avenue at Saks, Miss Lily’s, Nobu), discovered some new places (The Nines, Gemma at The Bowery hotel, Pineapple Club), got a palm reading, saw the new Whitney Houston movie, met up with some friends and so much more!

As always, I took pictures along the way and had to make a Photo Diary. I left my camera at home this trip and shot everything on my iPhone 13 Pro and I must say I wasn’t let down once. I’ve had the 13 for a while now and the various camera lens options has to be my favourite feature. I get so many compliments when I shoot with the macro lens, it really captures the details like no other camera phone. That being said, keep scrolling and enjoy some of the images I took along the way!

Fit Check Winter Edition’

Hi bb’s – I hope that the end of the year has been treating you all well! It’s been a while since my last blog post so I wanted to pop on and share a street style look I shot recently. In my opinion, this whole fit is fire (duh, lol) but no honestly I really love this look. The jacket and pants are from the Canada Goose x Feng Chen Wang collaboration that dropped about a month or so ago. I’m in love with the cropped winter jacket and the fit of the pants are a total vibe. I paired these pieces with an oversized hoodie from Heron Preston (old) and my new Abstract Beatle boots from Rick Owens DRKSHDW.

Even though this fit is on the casual side, it’s an outfit that’ll surely bring attention your way. I’d wear this look to run errands, brunch with friends, and even to attend a casual fashion event!

I’m heading to New York for the holidays and I’m sure that I’ll shoot a few looks + do a travel diary post (sigh, it’s been too long), so I’ll be back soon :)!

Black-Tie, But Make It Fashion

Hi Angels – not me giving y’all back 2 back entries this week, lol. This is going to be a short style post from an event I attended over the weekend, called The Fire Ball Gala in support of The Arthritis Society! It was a great event, held at one of my favourite hotel venues in the city – The Fairmont Royal York , all in celebration of a great cause!

Y’all know If I’m going to do Black-Tie (which, I usually don’t) I’m going to make it fashion & do it right! I’m wearing pieces from the latest H&M Studio AW22 collection that just arrived in Canada. When I saw this look, I knew that I had to have it. The blazer is oversized, the skirt is rad, and the pants are flared, like…come on! I paired it with a one strap black crop top, my YSL boots, some silver jewellery and my Balenciaga bag. I would just like to say that the fit, definitely gave!

I’m photographed with my girl Sasha, who looked stunning and was the best person to be with at the Gala. There’s not that many pics but keep scrolling for a few more – xoxo

Hi babes – I hope that your week is off to a great start! Circling back on the blog today with a style post from a TV segment that I filmed last week with my friends over at ET Canada! We were spilling all the fashion + pop culture tea in regards to Rihanna’s latest Savage X Fenty Vol.4 Runway Show, and whew it got spicy, lol.

You guys know, I always spill the real tea, and let’s just say not everybody agreed with me this time around, lol! I love fashion and pop culture commentary because everyone has their own unique perspective on how they interpret things and that’s what makes things interesting! It’s funny to me when people get wildly upset over an individuals opinion but I know that comes with the territory.

Let it be known that what got some people heated wasn’t about my baby RiRi, nor the full show. The show was a vibe as always, the models ATE and the fashion GAVE. I snapped a few pics along the way and if you’d like to watch the full clip – you can catch it here! I wanna stress how much better it is to be shooting these segments in studio again, the energy is unmatched and I LOVE working with my co-fashion panelist Shreya and Morgan is always a fun time too!

Weekend Fit

Look at me being more consistent with my entries these days, lol – let’s see how long I can keep this up for, haha. I wore this look yesterday to a store event in Yorkville (CNTRBND) and I felt it deserved a moment. It’s so simple yet it did what it needed to do. An all black, oversized and relaxed fit completed with the Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TurboDRK high top sneakers.

Y’all know I love a good statement piece and this collaboration is all of that and more. It’s funny because when I was a kid, I would do anything to not draw attention to the size of my feet and now I’m wearing a sneaker that makes my feet look even bigger, lol talk about growth. As always there’s more pics below so take a peak and talk soon!

Outta This World

This look is outta this world and that’s on that, lol. I’m just playing but this is definitely a fun neutral tones outfit, that I shot last week. I love fall for the fashion and that’s honestly about it. I’m a sucker for a long overcoat, layering and a great pair of boots – and these Margiela’s are a great pair of boots! I got these Tabi boots for a TIFF premiere in September and they ended up arriving late… smh but once I put them on I knew that I had to keep them. They’re definitely not for everyone but I think that’s the appeal of them to me. They’re polarizing – you either love them or hate them, kind of like me, lol.

This was the last look that I shot with the bleached brows ( I went back to black), which I think also play up the outta this world theme, along with my runway sunglasses from Prada.

This is a look that I’d feel comfortable wearing in the day to an event, to a nice lunch or to something that I want to stand out of the crowd a little more but not feeling like I’m doing THE most iykwim.

Street Style

10. 24. 2022 – I can’t tell you what happened that day but I can tell you that my outfit was dope AF, lol. Whew, this is such a simple yet effective fit for the season. Oversized, with a baggy vibe yet still put together, and can we mention the brows! The brows, the brows, let’s talk about the brows! This was my second full week having them bleached and honestly this is a trend I’m glad I tried. From the contrast of my eyebrows to the holes in the knitwear to the fit of the jeans, the chunky boots ( I told y’all I live in these, lol) and the oversized coat from COS AW22 collection I’m very pleased with how it the outfit came together – I hope that you guys like it too!
