It’s kind of hard for me to believe it but 2015 is shortly coming to an end. I honestly don’t know where the time has gone, I swear to you that it was summer yesterday. That being said, I know that the last few months of the year are going to fly by even quicker due to the holidays and the millions of celebrations occurring at the same time. You guys know, for the most part this year I’ve been opting for more street style looks but when it comes to the holidays as much as I think ripped denim and bomber jackets are always a good idea, it’s probably better to dress up a little more.
I’ve teamed up with my good friends at RW&CO to showcase a look that I would wear to an event or party over the holidays. I opted to dress up their two-tone twill blazer with a collared shirt and a pair of slim fit dress pants. For me, I always try and find a subtle way to differentiate my look from the other men that may be in attendance. Something that’ll give me a little edge over the others or let people know that I didn’t just pick up the first items that I saw at a boutique. I think the two-tone blazer really helps me do that with this look. The material, the colour and the fit let others know that you’re comfortable being different in a room of guys wearing tuxes or following a black and white colour scheme but at the same time is subtle enough to not come off as if you’re trying too hard. – It’s all about a balance! If you’re in the market for a new blazer for the holidays or some dressy options, keep scrolling to the bottom for my “What I’m Wearing” section to get pieces from my look!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ve probably noticed my slight obsession with outerwear. It’s almost as big as my love for sneakers… almost! Picking the right outerwear is really important because ultimately it’s a statement piece that you’ll continuously wear. Think about it, every season you rotate between 2-3 jackets that you wear everywhere. Meaning they’ve got to be versatile, stylish and protect you from the elements. I picked up this peacoat from RW&CO that I think checks off all three boxes. It’ll look good dressed up with some dress pants and a cashmere sweater or dressed down with a pair of dark denim and some casual kicks (like I tend to go for). I could’ve gone for a camel, navy or black jacket but instead I opted for military green, which is very in this season and will help set you apart from others. Lastly, fall weather is super unpredictable and I despise being cold, so make sure to check if you’re jacket has a good lining to help protect you from those low temperature days.

Spring is finally here and that means one thing, out with the old and in with the new. I’ve been doing a lot of spring cleaning recently and got rid of a lot of old clothes that I’ve collected over the year and putting most of my warmer items into storage ( I still live in Canada, so I can’t put them all away). Spring also signifies the beginning of wedding season. – I don’t know about you, but the older I get the more wedding invitations I seem to be receiving (I’m only 25..sigh). Getting dressed up for these occasions can start to get a little pricey so I’ve teamed up with my friends at RW&CO to showcase how you can get the most out of your suit. I’ve put together a few tips to help facilitate shopping for the perfect suit that’ll help you not only look your best but feel your best while wearing it.Tip #1 Colour – If you’re only going to have a couple of suits in your closet make sure that one of them is a classic colour; grey, blue, or black. – They’re the most versatile colours to build with and if they’re of good quality they can be brought over from season to season.Tip #2 Fit – It’s 2015 guys, it’s time to get comfortable wearing more fitted clothes, so why not start with your suit? My favourite fit from RW&CO is the ‘Miles’ fit. It’s the slimmest of their three options (Miles, Preston, Haddington) that they carry and happens to be one of their most popular. If you’re apprehensive about purchasing a suit off the rack, RW&CO offers alterations to allow your suit to fit just the way you’d like it to. Tip #3 Shirts & Accessories – Once the foundation has been selected, the fun part begins. I don’t get dressed up too often but when I do, I love being able to find cool but subtle ways to making myself stand apart from the crowd. I decided to showcase how you can do that through your choice of shirt and accessories. In my first look I decided to wear a bold coloured dress shirt and then use a more subtle coloured options with the pairing of the tie, vest and pocket square to tone it down a little. Which is just the way I like it. I went for a classic white dress shirt in my second look and paired it with a bright tie. Sometimes you can make the biggest statements through the smallest pieces. I had so much fun putting these looks together and if you guys have any tips that you’d like to share with us, I’d love to hear them and you know how to get in contact with me! Cheers to spring & wedding season.
